KVR1333D3N9/4G with kvr13n9s8

My desktop curently has a 4gb kingston ddr3 1333 low profile ram (KVR1333D3N9/4G) installed and I want to upgrade. Can I add a 4gb ddr3 1333 low profile ram like the  kvr13n9s8?

You probably know it's a luck of the draw anyway. The sticks you have are dual rank and they're discontinued. The replacements KVR13N9S8/4G and KVR13N9S8H/4G are both single rank. Out of those two, the one with H in the product code is a better match (se tRC in specs) I believe either one of them can still be supported by the motherboard but at least officially, you can't mix single+dual rank. If I were shopping for RAM, I'd either replace all of them with new sticks or try and find KVR1333D3N9/4G used if not new.

The good news is that to my experience (used to work for a Kingston retailer) the low profile and normal profile KVR1333D3N9/4G can be mixed. Kingston discontinued the normal profile at some point so all the RMA swaps were done to the low profile ones. I tested every case and not once did they present problems.

I didn't have such a kind of knowledge before about memory and I added KVR13N9S8/4 to my existing KVR133D3N9/4G in As Rock H77M. Because the shop sold to me it's the same 133mHz and 4GB. It works well and no problem for windows 7 8 8.1.
