SLI or single card solution?

I have a GTX 970 SSC in my rig. Should I get another 970 or just go with a GTX 1060?

GAMING RIG:

CPU: Ryzen 5 5800X3D

MOBO: ASUS TUF Gaming X570 PLUS (Wi-Fi)

RAM: 32GB G.Skill Ripjaws @ 3600MHz

GPU: PowerColor Fighter RX 6700 XT

STORAGE: 500GB Crucial MX500 M.2 (Boot Drive) / 500GB Crucial SATA / 1TB WD HDD

CASE: Dimas Tech EasyBench V3.0

 

VR RIG:

CPU: Ryzen 7 5700x

MOBO: MSI B550 Gaming GEN3

RAM: 32GB G.Skill Ripjaws @ 3600MHz

GPU: Zotac AMP! 2080 Super

STORAGE: 250GB ADATA SSD / 500GB WD Blue SSD / 1TB WD Blue HD

I'd go 970 SLI for now, as long as you don't have to pay much for the card. Yes it can have issues over a single card set up, but a 1060 isn't a big step up, and there isn't a (currently supported) option to double that up further down the road.

Well there's a slight FPS boost but if I do SLI I can have a master and a slave card setup. That's what I was thinking about too. Just going with SLI :)

It'd make more sense for me to just SLI. Barely an FPS increase :)

The video posted above is the 1070, not the 1060, vs the 970 SLI. The 970 SLI will be quite a bit faster than the 1060.

Woops :P I seen the 1060 comparison video. I have an Xbox One and I'm wanting to play Horizon 3 without any problems. The 970 is the lowest card on the recommended GPU list so if I SLI I should have a better experience right?
