Corsair k60 having a seizure

My friend has a corsair k60. It's acting funny. he presses one key and a combination of letters come out. for example, he presses the "s" key and "\swx2\" is what comes out.

I have tried suggesting the following

Use a different USB port

REplug

Restart

Update software

none of them has worked. I am now suggesting that he RMA is but just wanted some feedback if anybody knows this issue.
