Zoltane

So I want a new monitor. I have around 500 dollars. I mostly watch movies and play csgo. What monitor should I get?

What's your graphics card?

try for 120/144hz

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

maybe you should spend 200 on a new RX 480* and 300 on a 144hz monitor.

I don't think you're going to be able to push 144+ fps all the time with that.

What monitor are you currently using?
Can you use the $500 to get a RX 480 and then get a monitor?

my pc is pretty bad. but I usually get around 60 fps with csgo with my cheap aoc monitor (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/aoc-24-led-hd-monitor-black/5079500.p?id=bb5079500&skuId=5079500&lsft=ref:212,loc:1&ksid=55245dc7-10fc-4f10-b704-03111cee32f9&ksprof_id=8&ksaffcode=pg73&ksdevice=c&ref=212&loc=1)

shaders can be turned down too. everything is maxed. play at a lower resolution

but really, spend more money ona  rx 480 and get some 144hz monitor. if you're getting only 60fps or so, why spend more money on a monitor?
the "bottleneck" isn't your monitor its your gpu btw in case if you think thats why its getting bad fps.
