This is my experience yours may differ.

 

After watching countless videos on the vive I had to have one. Ordered one May 3rd and it got here May 17. I waited until the weekend to set it up and when I finally did and put it on here where my first thought. Wow the resolution sucks. It is sorta worse then what I thought but once in a game your don't notice it. Just loading screens and trying to read anything. I played the lab and drew in tilt brush and it was amazing. The next day I start playing and it starts flipping out. To sum this part up, sorta long. I spent over 4 days trying to fix this tracking problem and I never did find a fix. I tried everything I mean everything. I asked on here, steam, reddit and so on. Most said it was USB so I unplugged everything and it worked. Then I turned it back on again and it didn't. After waiting 5 days HTC has not responded so great support there. Same with steam devs, I know they are busy. Anyways when the headset worked it was crazy good. It felt so real and playing portal was the most fun thing ever. Never got motion sick or hit a wall. Now rant time.

 

SteamVR crashed every other time.

My stupid tracking problem that never got fixed.

That huge cord that has tripped me so many times.

That horrible resolution.

 

The good stuff.

When the tracking worked it worked well. I could stand my back to both lighthouses in a corner and it still tracks perfectly. 

The controllers fell really nice in the hands and the finger pad works nicely.

There is this soft touch plastic on everything that I love the most.
Also the box is a work of art as well.

 

It is truly great but mine just does not work so I am returning it and going to wait some more years for it to mature and PCs to catch up. Vive you truly are awesome but my god have you caused too much stress in my life.

Had mine about 2 weeks now. 

 

NOTHING BUT TRACKING NIGHTMARES.

 

I tried ceiling, wall and tripod mounting... All with varying degrees of success.
