Psu "Strangeness"

I recently made a post a few weeks ago about my PSU's HORRIBLE coil-whine, (Corsair hx1050) it's about 5 months old now (when I made the post ~4months old)

 

Anyways, I haven't changed anything in my PC since I made the topic, and the coil-whine under load is basically gone, and I haven't heard it in a week or so now atleast, even under heavy heavy stress testing. But the buzzing it makes is there 24/7, even if my PC is off, should I still try and RMA it? Or is it maybe getting better considering the coil whine has basically disappeared? 

 

The unit coil-whined since I bought it btw, but recently I haven't noticed it in quite a while.

 

The fact that the coil-whine has disappeared so far sort-of worries me, but almost makes me feel like it wasn't a big deal since it disappeared.. But the buzzing even when the PC is off is definitely iffy..

 

 

 

( I didn't rma it previously on the unsure-ness if they'd take it back, and how long it'd take, school starting soon I'm going to need my PC every day for the online CAD class I'm taking, but if it has to happen then I guess I'll find a way)

i would still rma it, even though coil whine does not damage anything

If you really need 1050w then you might be screwed if you RMA, If not then buy a cheapo PSU from your local store and RMA.

i dont get how something that sounds so horrible can be not a big deal its just buzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

 

24/7 :q  better than the previous "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" noise it made under load.. still horrible but I suppose I shall  RMA it and figure out what to do for the week or however long it takes

If it buzzing even when it's off and that annoys you, just turn the PSU off, or take out the power cord, that should help.

If I spend money on something it should work properly and I should be happy with said product.. There's no reason I should have to unplug it every night when I want to sleep lol.

Yeah I know, I have a faulty MoBo in my PC, but I use it anyway with temporary solutions, because RMA in my country is so slow, don't know about RMA law in the US but I doubt you just walk into the store, tell them what's up and they hapily give you a new piece.
