Firefox in typing, not scrolling, mode

Alir

So you know how you can scroll a page with the arrow keys? And Home, End, PageUp and PageDown? I used to be able to do that on Firefox. However, now, Firefox thinks the page is a huge text box. When I click on a word for example, it shows the blinking line which you find when you're typing. Though I can't type anything into the browser. Obviously.

When I press any of the above buttons, even the arrow buttons, the page jumps right to the bottom of the page.

Suffice it to say, it's confused.

I cannot scroll properly anymore because of this. Anyone know of a solution? I cannot recall anything I did which caused this. Maybe a shortcut which I pressed accidentally.

I use Linux Mint Cinammon. However I think this is down to the browser and not to the OS. This does not happen in Chromium, the open source Linux version of Chrome.

Cheers.

Go to firefox settings and go to advanced there should be an option to search for words when you type. Disable it

It worked.

Someone needs to give you a badge for that!!

Thanks a tonne!

Note: I have to unclick the option under Accessibility "always use the cursor keys to navigate within pages"
