"Matching" 21:9 and 16:9 Monitors

TheKDub

I've been trying to decide on what I want to do for a monitor setup eventually, and having a 3440x1440 (21:9) monitor, then a 2560x1440 (16:9) monitor on each side.

Now the trouble is finding a 1440p 21:9 monitor and two 1440p 16:9 monitors that have the same height of screen, and roughly the same thickness of bezels, and also look similar (other than the 21:9 being wider).

If anyone knows of a 21:9 1440p monitor (maybe around 34" or so) and a 16:9 1440p monitor that have the same height of screen and look relatively similar, please share!

Thanks!

Well if one were to turn a blind eye to the budget something else this may be pretty sweet, while it is a curve ultrawide though:

That would be a gorgeous setup.

Yes, as long as one had a fat wallet  :D

Yeah... wallet isn't quite that fat :P

Maybe if it fit with something a little cheaper like this? http://www.amazon.com/LG-Electronics-34UM95C-34-0-Inch-LED-Lit/dp/B00ZL3D1E8/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1451114244&sr=1-1&keywords=3440x1440+IPS&refinements=p_72%3A1248879011 (Though it seems some people are plagued with cancerous backlight bleed with that monitor, so I'll keep lookin)

Maybe the dell ultrawide would be fine, but i'd be nice for the side monitors to at least be a bit cheaper. (Like $200-250 each would be a reasonable amount)

Unfortunately, ultrawides and backlight bleed/IPS glow go hand-in-hand. You will never completely avoid it.

Alright.. Well, I could test my luck with the LG, maybe play "hot potato" with amazon with it if there is excessive backlight bleed or something.. or I could say screw it and just go with 3x 1440p or 4k monitors instead... though the extra width would be really nice for video editing, photo editing, productivity, etc..

They have a Pro 24" series which is cheaper but as of right now with the sale on the Ultra 25" it's a better deal..

I haven't really got to use those Ultrawide LG's before but from seeing them in person they look pretty sweet, stand is a little wobbly but is miles better compared to many of the Samsung ones.

If you like surround setups three 1440p screens may be the way to go as long as there is the GPU power to drive all of it.

Yeah, and they've got vesa support anyways.

As long as the monitor has VESA support, I don't care if the stand is absolute trash or not.

Just for reference

29" 21:9 is equal to 23" 16:9 in height

34" 21:9 is equal to 27" 16:9 in height

Alright, thank you! :)
