New FX- 8350 system.

Andster29

I am planning on making a new rig sometime in late May early June.

This is what I am planning on using:

AMD FX- 8350 (planning to overclock to 5.0Hz)

ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0

G. Skill Sniper Gamming Series 16gb (2 x 8GB 1866mhz Cas 9)

MSI N660 TF 2GD5/OC GeForce 660

Silverstone Strider series 600W

2TB WD Green Drive

NZXT Kraken X60

NZXT Phantom 410

The total is about $1,241 usd including OS.

Any suggestion? Is there a cooler that out preforms or is equal to the X60 that cost less?

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/E7Iv Here's your system with an i5 3570k. In Linus's recent livestream, he said that the h110 was better than nzxt's alternative. Also, you really don't want to have a WD Green drive as a main drive. I threw in a SSD for the main drive and a 1tb blue drive(2 dollars more than the green one). A better graphics card, and overall the same look(Was trying to go with the same color scheme. Though, this is a bit more than your original price, so I'll redo with AMD 8350.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/E7KG This is with an 8350. Still good, but still probably over your budget.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/E7MX Here's another build with the same color scheme, but maybe not exactly what you want. Works better with the budget, and same performance.

The last rig will perform close to almost the same as the other ones, but doesn't have the same motherboard. All of the builds include SSDs instead of using a Green drive(terrible idea) as a boot drive. If there is anything that you'd be willing to drop, or more information with the color scheme you'd want, let us know and we can better accommodate you.

My Rig:

  • CPU: 1090T@4.1ghz
  • GPU: Gigabyte 7870
  • MOBO: Crosshair Formula V
  • RAM: 8GB 1333mhz
  • PSU: 650w corsair HX
  • SSD: 120GB Kingston HyperX
  • Sound card: Asus Xonar DX
