CPU Upgrade

Toxiic

Hey guys. I currently have a FX-6300 and I believe that it's time for an upgrade to something from Intel. I was thinking of getting an i5-6600K but I'm not entirely sure which CPU is the best value for money or which motherboard I should get. The system will mainly be used to play games an browse the internet.

So I'm hoping that you guys could give me some CPU + Motherboard suggestions, I'm looking at a budget of £300 ($450 USD) for both of these. Cheers!

Current rig:

CPU: FX-6300

GPU: MSI GTX 970

Motherboard: Fatality Killer 990FX

RAM: Corsair Vengence LP @ 1600Mhz

Storage: OCZ Vector 150 120GB / Seagate Barracuda 1TB

Cooler: H100i Liquid Cooler.

sli compatible. just make sure you have at least a 620w psu for an overclock on the cpu and x2 970's. if you don't need the cooler, take it off and get the z170 pro gaming from asus instead

I will most likely go sli in the future not for a while though, and no I have a H100i Liquid Cooler.

is your psu large enough in terms of wattage to support x2 970's?
