I know something is up as its similar upload speeds and pings. I've tested with two different devices,  and the router is 10 feet away. I did not have this problem before I moved into my new apartment today.

Because of DD-wrt I do not have 5ghz access.

Any suggestions?

Try channels 1,6,11 as they are the best combination.
