My Windows 7 pc stays at welcome sometimes after login

So i got this pc of of amazon a month or two back its been working fine but now it stays at the welcome screen after I log in or after the welcome screen  it shows my cursour but not the desktop .Also my cd drive dosnt work and i dont have a ps2 keyboard to access the bios and or setting before the os  boot up

It just is loading slowly

Thats why i asked for specs, if he got a SSD, this shouldnt be the case.

thanks for welcoming me and my PC's specs are :

Cpu: intel 2 q6600

Gpu:ATI or amd whatever you prefer 4850 512 mb 

RAM:4 gb sector 5 G Skill ram

Hdd:Seagate 300 gb

Psu:I haev no idea what psu this is but I think its in the 200's-500's in wattage

Run msconfig, remove everything from startup, sounds like a program is stalling on startup,

Better yet try safe-mode first.

On startup hit F8 a number of times and select safe mode and see what happens.

@yoyo my gigabyte mono dose not have USB keyboards enabled and I don't have a ps2 keyboard

thanks super skank ...... So now to a different matter when i log in a comman prompt or run.exe shows up then quickly dissaperes
