Hi,

I'm just curious as to why Linus swears by a 3440x1440 monitor, rather than a 4k 3840x2160? Is there a video that he talks about this that anyone can point me to?

Thanks

I think it's because of the ratio :)

Also it is big, but still much easier to power, graphically, then 4k. Few pixels and all that :)

Bleigh!  Ever hear of AC series?

it has a high resolution, and good detail, but less demanding, and it has a better multitasking than a 16:9 monitor

because once you go past 16:9 wideness it gets to the point of no return an you wont upgrade your monitors unless you can get 3 of them, or a 21:9

Ye, i guess, if you are ok with zoning out on the bezels.

I cant stand bezels. Also i dont like that i wont see the far halves of the side monitors when playing .... and everything on the side monitors will be VERY stretched anyway.

You can get too wide, i think.

I think a 5:2 aspect ratio would be perfect, just a bit wider than 21:9. Lets say a 5000x2000 monitor. But if its small, its pointless. Id like it to be 50" (same height as a 40" 16:9). Now thats something i would totally lose myself in.

And a 3000x2000 for a laptop.

Ok, better stop daydreaming.
