Zotac 750ti

Hi guys.

 

    I was reading around trying to figure out why I could not get two monitors to run on my Zotac 750 ti and I ran into some interesting information that is not something I am familiar with.

 

So, I have two identical Dell monitors that connect via VGA but my graphics card has only DVI-I and DVI-D connections so I have 2 different adapters to connect the two VGA cables however the monitor plugged into the DVI-D will not show an image despite being recognised by Windows. (I have tried multiple configurations)

 

Apparently this may be due to an analog vs digital issue of sorts that I just cannot wrap my head around, does anyone have any information on the matter who might be able to clear it up for an idiot like me :P

dvi-d cannot be adapted to analog signal for vga to work. only dvi-i because it sends analog signal too.

Have you tried plugging the second monitor into your motherboard instead? Most have HDMI / DP / VGA / DVI on-board.

Yeah, this works. What kind of problems will I run into if I am playing a game on my monitor with the graphics card if my other monitor is not. Will I be fine provided the game is running on only the one monitor?
