Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 2, anyone?

Lauen

I was wondering if anyone has used or has seen or whatever, the Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 2?

I want to get one when I upgrade to an FX-8350, as I don't think my current Cooler Master Hyper TX3 would cool it sufficiently.

I have read some reviews, but they don't give enough information, IMO. Does anyone have some good comparisons between that and stuff like a NH-D14? or a Phanteks PH-TC14PE?

It's in german, but you should be able to grab the numbers here:

Page 9-14 should give you charts, which inlcude both the NH-D14 and the PH-TC14PE aswell as others.

Hi,

I had an NH-D14 and now have a Dark Rock Pro 2. I use it on my 3570K and they both cool pretty much the same, at worst within a few degree delta. If you are trying to decide between the two, I would just choose whichever looks best to you. They perform very similarly in terms of performance and silence.

The only meaningful difference between the two is the mounting mechanisms. The NH-D14 is much easier to mount than the Dark Rock Pro 2. If you get a Dark Rock Pro 2, I would recommend taking out the motherboard, because the cooler has to be secured from the back plate, which can make it somewhat difficult.

Its not bad at all, it would be sufficient for an 8350. I assume you're getting it for aesthetic reasons?

Yes, Be Quiet stuff just looks sooooo nice, and you actually don't sacrifice all that much performance, with the nickel plating and such.

Thanks :)

I had a little german in 8-10th grade, (Norway you see) so I understand some of it.

Thank you :)

I was planning on removing the motherboard in order to mount it, yes. I have quite large hands, so it would be the easiest way.

Thank you for your feedback :)
