4K on Displayport on Asus G75?

abe8132

Currently I am ready to spend to get a 4K monitor as soon as I know that the display will work fine with displayport from my laptop.

Currently I am using multiple displays (TWO 1080P external monitors)

LG 24" Monitor (Running on HDMI)

Acer 24" Monitor (Running on HDMI converted from Mini Displayport [or Thunderbolt])

I am just curious if Mini Displayport will support 4K resolution at 60Hz since it already has GDDR ram of 3GB. (GTX 670MX 3GB)

I occasionally watch 4K content (Downsampled to 1080P but still very clear) and heavy photo edits. High resolution monitor will enable me have more pixels to work with.

I searched all over google and other websites, but I still can't find my answer.

A simple answer will be great!

Thanks.

So with the info posted by @DEcobra11, along with the fact that you do a lot of photo editing, I'd recommend an Asus PA279Q. About the same price as a 4K display, within the resolution that mDP can handle, and factory colour calibrated.
