Recommended Posts

So I’m planning on buying a prism cooler for my ryzen 5 1400 but my motherboard doesn’t have a a rgb header, and my question is Does the usb connection to the cooler address the lighting?

The wraith prism is weird, it uses the RGB header for the fan and the USB 2.0 for the RGB. You can read about it here, where I learnt about it. But I just want to let you know that a wraith prism cooler on a 1400 is very unnecessary and a waste of money

AMD Ryzen 3 3200G / Sapphire R9 290X / 16gb (2x8) Kingston ValueRam @ 2666Mhz / Gigabyte A320M-S2H / Kingston A400 120GB M.2 SSD / WD Blue 2.5" 1TB HDD / Cooler Master MWE450 / Aerocool CS-100 / LG 22MK400H-B 1920x1080 @ 75Hz

And so basically the usb plug controles both the ring and fan color? And it goes down to my usb header

Yeah, the USB plug controls the colours and the RGB headers control the fan. Pretty dumb layout
