GitHub Repo that Linus was talking about in the Linux Video

In the "10 Ways Linux is just better!" Linus talks about Anthony running into a guy at System76 who had a GitHub repo with a script which could install all the software you would need and download your user profile after installation. I couldn't find the link to it in the description, or the comments. Could any of you kindly link the repo in the comments?

Thanks

I believe that was a personal repo that he was talking about. Many people have a dotfiles repo for such configs. You can easily see tons of those on github.

ASUS X550LN | i5 4210u | 12GB

All the software and configuration that one specific person or group would ever need. Not necessarily you.

These scripts can also remove things and configure a system in such a way that it expects certain hardware to exist.

These are personal setup / install scripts, Generally setup by more experienced people.

It would be a fairly bad idea to download a random script to setup your Environment, especially if you don't understand what it does.

Hey so I was confused for a bit too.  It is a bash script here is an example for fedora there is no easy way to just drag and drop what you want. It does require a higher level of technical skill.  Maybe find someone on here or on fiverr that can help you put together your own.

I found a website called lilite (ninite for linux).  It isn't perfect for me, it didn't have everything that I wanted so I forked it and created a version for myself that uses docker so I can run it in my personal k8s cluster and use it to install all of the apps I need
https://www.lilite.co
