BEGGING for help choosing GSkill memory for new Threadripper

lukx

I'm totally lost with all the memory options from GSkill for AMD Threadripper 3970x, ASUS Zenith II Extreme mainboard.

Basically I used Gskill ram configurator on their site and want 128GB (8x16GB) ... the problem is that almost no 128 kits are available anywhere.

So I looked for 64GB (4x16) so I can buy two to have 128G total but in their configurator there the memories from 128GB kits  doesn't exist in 64GB which is strange as I though they are the same chips.

I tired pcpartpicker and there are even more memory options as there I could get Trident Z NEO wich is supposed to be specially done for AMD. But on GSkill site Neo for Threadrippers doesn't show.

I'm totally lost what's the best memory to get. Of course I'm not after crazy priced Royals!!!

At this point you can pretty much buy anything you want if capacity is your largest concern.  If you want the Neo kits then go for it.  If you want something else then that will be workable too.

Isn't it better to get NEO as it's designed for AMD? Or it's only for standard Ryzens?

Threadripper is Ryzen so get whatever you want.
