Custom Icons of URL-Shortcuts (e.g. Steam) Getting Sketchy

Colletior

Heyho,

so I have an issue that is haunting for years from Windows 7 to the most up-to-date Windows 10: URL-Shortcuts (like used with Steam, Uplay, etc.) which icons get custom exchanged get screwed up when left in the "big icon mode" for the folder.

What I mean is: as long as the view of the folder/window is in list or small icons, everything works and looks fine. However if you choose to up the size in the window to medium or big, some randomly choosen icons remain small while other work fine. This can be only fixed temporarily by reusing the same .ico but renamed for every shortcut. Switching from small to medium icon/shortcut size will work as expected. After a restart (sometimes) things get sketchy again without any sign of pattern, sometimes it takes time to get buggy again. Very rarely they fix themself while other shortcut-icons remain small.

Let me show you how it looks.

This image shows how it looks in the small view of my game folder.

Here the window view is changed to the bigger icon setting.

Lastly I choose to temporarily "fix" the icons by the mentioned .ico reusage for three shortcuts (Absolver, Alien Isolation and Assassin's Creed III).

For personal taste reasons I would like to have the game folder being more in this "launcher-esk" look, however this bug prevends me from actually doing it. Any ideas/experience?

Yea, forget to mention I tried all of that. Neighter did it work on Windows 7 or 10 unfortunatly. Sometimes restarting explorer.exe had the same effects like restarting.
