i just got some new hard where are i want to turn my old hardware in to a FreeNAS system with PLEX on it i just want to know if there is any way to move the loaded HDD's from my Windows PC to the freeNAS system with out loosing the data on them

FreeNAS supports an import feature where it will read the NTFS partitions and copy the data over to the ZFS pool. If you intend to use the disk with the data currently on it as the ZFS pool then no, I don't believe there is. You'll need a temporary place to put the data while you create the ZFS pool then move the data back either via import or over the network.

You'll need a another hard drive to move the data to. Freenas has to format the disk to use it for a zpool so it would erase all your data on it.
