Does VRR really make a difference?

Hey guys,

 

I am curious if it really makes a difference to have a monitor that has VRR, especially when G-Sync is turned on already.

Is it better to have that feature too?

VRR = variable refresh rate, which is exactly what Gsync is (but not only). Not sure what you're asking about.

So I want to buy a new monitor but I am not sure which to choose. The two displays that are in the budget have either VRR or no VRR. Both have G-Sync though. I just wonder if it makes any difference to buy the one with VRR. It is also the one that is more expensive.

G-Sync is a type of VRR technology.

 

Perhaps it is referring to HDMi 2.1 VRR ?

If you're talking about HDMI VRR support, then I wont have this feature in my consideration since you could always just use DP (and I think Gsync has features that are DP specific).

I do not know exactly what VRR type this is. The specification just says VRR supported. It is the Asus ROG Swift PG278QR.
