THis is your last bet, and honestly, if it doesn't work, you need to figure out what is going wrong. It is almost 100% will work.

I used odin on my Samsung Galaxy A10, to flash twrp. I followed the guide, and ticked EVERY box from the options list (including nand erase and re-partition). Currently, the phone rejects all flash attempts I've tried (check fail device 2 binary 1 is the error I get)

Is there anything I can do to recover it, or is it just an expensive-ish paperweight?

Does Samsung offer a ROM you can flash to restore it to factory settings?

yes, Odin is a samsung flash tool that can be used to flash samsung devices with either 3rd party firmware or their own.

OP: I am pretty certain that you were not supposed to tick "nand erase" and "re-partition", that might be a hard brick.

You need to restore to pure factory rom baseband everything.

You need to find the default rom for your device online. i don't quite remember how samsung phone does it, it was a pain when i was doing it on my s8

There are no official ROM downloads on their website, but i have tried some unofficial "stock" ROMs. Flashing those shows the same error

That doesn't really matter? u can clear out everything and reflash it right? even baseband and everything.

After doing some research (after, of course, flashing) i have nearly come to the same conclusion.

IIRC, "nand-erase" function pretty much clears the phones whole nand, including download mode, recovery mode, whole thing. Devices with snapdragon chipsets have a QFIL recovery mode which allows users to flash firmware using their own tool, not sure if that device has it or even uses a SD chipset.

The phone is currently in download mode, the Samsung logo also shows up when the phone is turned on, with a non factory OS warning/error. It boot-loops if i don't enter download mode, which is pretty much the only thing I can do in it's current state. And Samsung recovery software on PC doesn't detect this phone as an actual Samsung phone, so it doesn't work as well.
