Planning: OSX in KVM to edit audio and video

Filipe Soares

dear dudes and dudettes,

I´m kind of sick of my old mac mini server (2012) which has been working kind of bad lately and I`m thinking about building a computer to run it through KVM like linus has been doing lately. It seems to be a really ellegant solution that would allow me to keep being hostage of logic pro and final cut pro without the price of a new mac mini (1k usd in my needs).

So within that boundaries, 1000usd, what can I do? the last PC I´ve built was in 2007  (I Told you, apple made me hostage) and I have no idea what are the solutions today. I´m open to anything (amd, intel, nvidia, radeon) as long as it it´s not a major pain in the ass, some pain in the ass is pretty much acceptable and cheaper than a new mini.

So what are your suggestions? I´ll be using the computer to record some tracks (logic pro), editing some content for youtube (1080p, final cut pro) and doing some editing in photoshop. A good upside would be some very light gaming (pc, win)
