Tethering Monitors and PC's?

WRENCHHTX

I'm building an office for my wife and I, I will be building PC's for gaming but would like to know if it is possible to have 2 different builds but tether them together to allow access for both of us to connect and use separate monitors at our own setup to view and operate with out moving from our own desk

I'm not too sure what you're going for here.

So you're building two separate computers and want to connect them to separate monitors? If so, that's entirely possible. Just connect each computer to the monitor(s) you want it to be displayed by.

If you want to connect both computers to the same monitors and be able to switch which computer is being shown on the monitors, that's also possible. Just plug both computers into each monitor, then use the monitor's control to select which input you want to use.

Simple solution.

Treat the machines as just machines, either use onedrive or something for your files instead of saving them locally.

You could also use a NAS.

None of your files save to the machines, just download the software you need to each machine under your profile, which you will have logged into on both.

TLDR; stop thinking of the machine as yours and don’t save files there, put them in the cloud.
