Panda of the Shadow

Hey guys i'm currently doing a practicum in an internet company and the told to do a logo for Rhein-Berg around the lines of something with a mountain (Berg) and a little sea thingy (Rhein). This is what i did in the last 5 minutes: and i think looks ridiculous. Would anybody help me i can't figure out anything better then that... Thanks.

Remove the tree and expand the background pattern down more and put "Rhein-Berg" there

Keep it as abstract as possible and clean as you can, get rid of the tree and see what you can do with just the lines. If you're using the company name in the logo, find a good font for it.

EDIT

You HAVE to keep a tree in it? Well that's just terrible logo making IMO <-<

I think it's a big improvement, yes.
