How to choose a SAS card for UnRaid

I'm currently building a new Plex server and would like to use UnRaid.

I'v gathered most of my hardware, but i'm quite a newby to UnRaid and non consumer NAS devices. Are all SAS cards equal and if not how do i know what to choose?

I'm using my old Mobo out of my desktop (Asus Z97M Plus) with a core i7 in a Silverstone CS380 with 6 (looking to go to 8 eventually) 6TB WD Reds.  I would want some level of parity in case of drive failures (i'll backup offsite as well), but i'd like to be able to expand the storage pool easily and swap drives in/out.

I'll probably add a GPU down the line for Hardware accelerated transcoding, but I'm not sure when.

SAS card which base on LSI SAS 2008 and LSI SAS 2308 controller like

DELL H200,

HP H220,

LSI 9211-8i,

LSI 9207-8i is common.

SAS 2308 is a improved version of SAS 2008, support PCIe 3.0 and higher IOPS. SAS 2308 is Beneficial, if you need connect SSD

don't buy the sas card older than LSI 9211-8i. They only support 2TB and smaller devices

Cheers! Can I just confirm, before I go ahead and buy, that this is the right kind of thing?

Obviously if I buy it and it didn't work I won't blame you!

OK

Incidentally, a small fan is useful to SAS card.

The original heatsink was designed for server case with crazy fan.
