How did Linus get the browser working

In this video that's a clip of him using a browser, but I had to install an APK with is ES file manager.

 

And it took me over three days and several other methods that didn't work out.

 

And now I have no ability to navigate the web browser because I installed the phone version of Chrome, I was able to do a Google search but I cannot select web pages like he did in the video.

 

Linus had a cursor with the remote like a Wii remote, and I don't even have mouse support even though I have it in the home screen.
