Firewire pci-express card

Does anyone know if the syba low profile pci-express 1394b is any good and if you have any recommendations for a firewire card.

To be honest, any firewire card probably isn't very good because USB took it over as a standard like VHS took over BETA even though the loser was technically faster/better.  I would go with what you can get and hope that it works... my recommendation is as follows:

May I ask why you need Firewire?  Firewire needs to hurry up and disappear.  Do you need it for DJ equipment or something?
