Hi guys. Are dl380 g7 still good? The price doubles on g8 hp servers, even though the specs are similar and also use ddr3. I want to get one with 2 x5650 cpus and 64gb ddr4. But those servers are about 8 to 10 Year’s old. I want to run a modded multiplayer minecraft server.

if not, can someone help me choose a cheap new server that can run minecraft well?

It should do. You just have to make sure you have the wacemended amount of dedotated wam (and a good ethernet connection) for a smooth experience for your clients.

 

Just so you know, servers and their fans are really loud, so if noise is a concern, I suggest building a server out of old parts, they will typically be quieter than any server, old or new.
