4k if you play eye candy games. I use a 32" LG.

3440 x 1440 144hz if you play multiplayer FPS.

If I did FPS I would get a 3440 X 1440 LG 34GK950F-B 34" 21:9 Ultragear

For eye candy ultra wide a 3840 x 1600 LG 38WK95C-W 38-Inch Class 21:9

I also use a 32" 1440p 144hz monitor but I prefer higher resolutions.

Very nice post jones177; Well the whole point of a single 2080Ti is that it can game at 4k resolution @ 60fps and some minor dips.  This is where the 3GB extra VRAM kicks in.  But if your going to play at any resolution lower then that, then SLI is pointless.  With SLI that 60fps in 4k might get a 15 percent or 20 percent boost.

Agreed, nice post, thank you for all the information, so if im trying to take full advantage of a monitors refresh rate i should go 1440p or ultrawide 1440p, but if i want more eye candy and can deal with not 100+ fps in every game then go 4k?

I still say your only choice is to play @ 4k.  Any resolution lower your SLI basically dies.  I mean honestly can you tell a difference from 180fps and 240fps .. No you don't... So I mean its even pointless to SLI and spend 3k and play at 1440p or 1080p,  Man if you played at 1080p that is a freakin cardinal sin.. ehehe.. So ya your only choice is max out nv panel turn everything on all AA all that jazz then max out game settings set her to 4k and enjoy smooth game play.  Because if you can sync 60fps that is really enough but just for shelling out that SLI it will help 14 to 20 percent which will help greatly

Also a 100Hz monitor will do great for you.  No need for 144hz because you won't get 144fps at 4k and what not. Or 120hz overclocked or not would be great.

But if you are going to play at 1440p then you need a 165Hz if not a 240hz.
