Aftermarket VRM Heatsink.

Go to solution Solved by Firewrath9,

watch a vrm analysis, not the

 same board but similar.

its the small black squares to the left, as for heatsinks, I use these for vrms

So I have an ASUS PRIME B450M-A/CSM Motherboard and I'm running 4075mhz at 1.286v on my 2600X. Since this MOBO has no heatsink on the VRM, I'm thinking about putting some aftermarket VRM heatsinks on them. The thing is where do I put them? Is it on the bigger, darker cube like objects on the left and top near the socket or the many little squares next to those cubes? I wanna make sure I don't put the heatsinks on the wrong thing.

Why do you feel the need to do this?

You're not pushing a monster OC at all, there's no need for this type of mod and frankly tends to look ugly as hell.  Just have good airflow thru your case and all is well.

The little black chips are what you want to cool.

Just for curiosity, do the sizes fit perfectly? I wanna make sure to not get ones that are too small or too big. Thanks.

you can always get a ruler and measure yourself (I don't know how big there are)

It would probably be better to find heatsinks that can span between the mosfets it sinks from.  It will mean extra surface area so more cooling.
