What fans to buy?

Dklime
Go to solution Solved by Lathlaer,

If you want quiet fans you can't go wrong with Silent Wings from BeQuiet.

But don't expect miracles, if you already had 3 intake and 1 exhaust fans then each next fan will bring less and less to the table. Diminishing returns hit hard when using a lot of fans. You will see a drop in temperatures but probably not as big as you think.

Going to upgrade my 960 to a 1080 and was thinking about buying some new fans for the case.

Got a h440 nzxt case.

The fans I got atm. Are the one that came with the case (3x120mm in the front and 140mm in the back)

Got space for 3x120 or 2x140 in the top of the case. Was also thinking of buying new fans for intake and exhaust, since the ones you get with case sucks (no pun intended) don't care for RGB.

If you've already got that many fans I wouldn't waste money on buying more. You've got plenty of airflow through the case with just that. That being said, if you're dead set on buying fans it does not matter what fans you get as long as you can tolerate the noise, they all push air the same way. (as long as you aren't putting them on a radiator, in which case I would recommend high static pressure fans like Noctua's NF-F series)

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Laptop:

HP Omen 15 | AMD Ryzen 7 5800H | 16 GB 3200 MHz | Nvidia RTX 3060 | 1 TB WD Black PCIe 3.0 SSD | 512 GB Micron PCIe 3.0 SSD | Windows 11

The fans that are in ATM do make some noise. Got an air filter in the front and was thinking that the top part of the case might be better utilised, since there is less dust. Also my 960 hit 78°C at 1440p rocket leauge on low.

Can't go wrong with be quiets lineup.  I have the pure wings two ones and I love them.

I don't like be quiet fans, I can do the same if not better with other fans simply by slowing them down, while still having the option to make them run fast and scream for the sake of cooling.

To each, their own I suppose.  They do move a decent amount of air for the noise level, 51.4 cfm at 19 db when at 100%.

Do you have the first or second version of the case? The first one isn't as well ventilated at the front.

Where are you shopping / located? Budget?
