SDD/HDD Configuration Help

CGettins97

Hello all. This is my first time in this forum, so apologies if this has been asked before!

I have a Gigabyte B450 Aorus Elite. I’m just wondering, realistically what is the maximum amount of HDD/SSD I can put into my system?

I have a 500GB Samsung 970 Evo, which will be going into the M2 slot. Obviously I know this renders 2 SATA ports unavailable.

Would I get away with using the following: Crucial MX500 500GB SeaGate Barracuda 1TB Western Digital Blue 500GB

I have the potential of 120GB SSD to add on, which would be hard as a work hard drive only. The Samsung 970 is going to be hard for my OS, and basic Files. The others for gaming etc and other applications.

Just wondering, realistically would I be able to get ALL 4 of the drives working at the same time? I could sacrifice the WD Blue, and use this as an external drive if needed.

Edit: Missed this, how would I deal with powering all of the HDD/SSD?

Manual says 6 SATA connectors.  So if you lose 2 with the M.2 being used, you still have 4 left.

What PSU do you have, should have enough SATA power connectors on it.

Hello, its the Corsair VS Series™ VS450. I do have the VS550 series if this makes much difference, which I could use if needed.

While not being the best PSU on the market (Check the PSU Tier List in the forums here), it has 7 SATA power connectors.
