Recommended Posts

Hi all,

1. I'm building my own pc and I have storage like 1tb hdd and 240gb ssd , it is possible to add m.2 ssd since my motherboard can handle m.2 ssd?

2. And what size of m.2 ssd should I buy for best matching?

anyway my current pc specs are:

cpu: ryzen 5 2600

mobo: aorus b450 mATX

case: thermaltake verse h18 tg

storage: wd green 240 ssd, toshiba 1tb

ram: ( Kingston HyperX Fury 4GB 2400Mhz DDR4 Non-ECC CL15 DIMM ) 2X = 8Gb

gpu: finding good and affordable

powersupply: finding good and affordable

Please I need your recommendation and suggestion.

thank you

1. Yes.. Of course it will depend on the motherboard, but it would be extremely weird if it can't handle it. Just check what kind of SSD you're getting; M.2 SATA SSD's are slow, PCIE/NVME SSD's are faster; but more expensive. If choosing the former, it sometimes turns off a SATA port (which you HDD/DVD player might be connected too).

2. At this point I usually recommend 500GB SSD's because of their GB to price ratio, plus having more space is just awesome. But it all depends on your use case
