R7 2700X

I upgraded to a 2700X but im curious how much power roughly would my system consume if i game or idle while downloading a game? i checked power supply calculators but kept getting different numbers. I also have a RX 480 and a 550w psu.

Can we get a complete run down on your system?

If you have a decent quality 550w power supply, it should be plenty though.

don't really need much more than that. RX480 & 2700X. maybe 400W under max load?

The most I've seen my 2700X pull is about 220W while overclocking to 4.3GHz on an ASUS Prime board.  I haven't seen it go that high on my Crosshair VII board though.
