Ram Speed Compatibility

My motherboard says it supports ddr3 1066 MHz or 1333 MHz. However, I only have DDR3 800 MHz as of right now. Will my computer still function properly when I build it if I use slower ram than supported?

Sure it'll still work. The mobo compatibility is MAX ram speed. Anything slower will usually work.
