So, a little bit of backstory. About 6 months or so ago I decided to upgrade my 1080Ti to a 3080. I made sure my PSU could handle it (Corsair TX850M) in terms of wattage and everything else seemed perfectly fine. Upgraded and everything went smoothly up until 2 weeks ago. I started getting system shutdowns in games and high intensive tasks after only a few minutes of doing them. Obviously, I googled my problem and everything seemed to point to my 5+ year old PSU. So, I bit the bullet and decided to go and buy the Corsair RM1000x PSU and swap it out. Everything was working perfectly fine yesterday when I plugged it all up and gaming end everything worked as it should, until today. After a few hours of use, my screen went black and the PC shut itself down, just like it did before with the old PSU. And yet again, just like last time, l'm now getting no signal and a solid white VGA LED on my motherboard. iGPU on the mobo works perfectly fine, as does everything else. I'm starting to think that maybe this is an issue with the GPU itself but honestly, I have absolutely no idea. How can something work perfectly one day but break the next when nothing has changed? Please, if anyone has any help whatsoever, please let me know because l've tried everything can think of including reseating, CMOS reset, a swap of cables, etc. Full specs: Gamemax Moonstone Case Asus Strix Z270E Motherboard Intel I7 7700K Gigabyte Gaming 3080 OC G.Skill Trident Z RAM 3200mhz 16GB Corsair RM1000x Toshiba 3tb HDD Samsung 970 500tb SSD Samsung 2TB SSD Thanks in advance

Just bought an Asus strix 270E board with a I7 7700k, Corsair H100i V2 and 16x2 Dominator Platinum 3000 DDR4. Tried using the on board DVI without GPU installed and tried installing GPU (980 strix) and using the DVI on the card. Neither are giving me a signal to my monitor. I've tried different monitors and cables.

Everything was fine for a week. My 7700k was getting somewhat high temps and thought maybe i should re-seat my cooler or re apply thermal paste. After doing it my system wouldn't boot. Solid orange light on my motherboard(Asus Z270-e) but all case fans, led strips and graphics card leds/fan turn on. Tried everything possible and couldn't get a boot. I switched everything out to my older Z97 board and i5-4460 and that is what i'm using now. The manual says its a stand by light idk if that helps at all

I'm putting together a new build for the first time in over 10 years. I'm trying to decide on a mobo and I keep going back and forth. I've been between the ROG Strix Z270E Gaming and the ROG MAXIMUS IX CODE. Are there any real differences between the two, besides lights and some plastic "armor"? Thanks for your input LTTC!

I was having a bit of trouble getting my system up and running (it would only boot after clearing CMOS) and so after checking with through AI Suite 3 with Asus EZ Update I saw my BIOS was 3 versions behind so I selected the latest version and clicked update. It then asked me to reboot the computer, but now it's been stuck alternating between the LEDs indicating problems with the CPU and RAM. How long should a BIOS update take? Is it stuck? Should I reset the pc? My setup is: CPU: i7 7700k with stock cooler GPU: GTX 1080 Ti FE RAM: GSkill Trident-Z 16GB@3200MHz (XMP not applied though) Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix Z270E Gaming I hope I didn't brick it...

I was wondering if anyone has 2 ASUS Strix GTX1070's in SLI on a ASUS Strix Z270E. I currently have 1 on the board and it looks like another card won't fit for an SLI setup and I don't want to spend the money just to return the product. Take a look its really close and the cards will be like right on top of each other. This might be a stupid question cause the board is mad for SLI but I have never done SLI before.

Hi, I have a problem. I have an i7-6700k on an Asus z270e gaming mobo, and for some reason, the i7 runs at 1.4 to 1.45 volts LOCKED. I've tried several times to manually lock the CPU voltage to 1.2v, 1.25v and 1.3v in the BIOS, but immediately when windows 10 boots, it goes back to anywhere from 1.4 and 1.45. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I would really like my CPU to run at somewhere around 1.2 to 1.3 volts, because even with my Dark Rock 3 cooler (pretty damn good for an air cooler) it runs at a near stock cooler like temp of 81 degrees in game playing load :(((( I have also tried to flash my bios, but that didn't work either.

So Here is my question, I have taken Notice that my CPU Runs around 40C at idle and Hitting A peak of 78C-80C Under load in Ghost Recon Wildland's. Its Cooled by a NZXT Kraken X62 (240mm Rad). It seems these Temps are a Little High for it being water cooled. Can anyone Confirm? Also The Room Was at 84F or 29C when these temp were recorded. I want to OC but I really don't want to go Over 90C and I don't think that's possible. One note, When I installed the X62, the tube seemed to be pushing on the Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4 Ram, Im thinking its possible that the Kraken isnt seating properly and that I need to turn the cooler 1/4 Clockwise to allow the tubes to exit on the top or bottom. But if the temps seems OK for stock clock then I dont want to mess with it.. Thanks for any Guidance.

(This is an image i found on google that has the same white bar, I didnt think to take a pic when it happened. I do not own any rights to this image) Okay so I have been Lurking on the forums for a while. Never had to post tho. Here is my Problem: I was Playing Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain for around 8 hours and all the sudden I got black screens on both monitors and my GPU fan spooled up to 100% and never came back. I did hear all the sounds from the game so I know the system was still up. I hit the Power button to do a soft power down and the system shut down on its own. I hit the power button 4 seconds after the shutdown and I got a 1” white bar across the screen horizontally, I checked my wife’s computer and it said that my PC had signed in so that tells me that it still booted into windows even though I couldn’t see anything. I shut it down once more and waited 10 minutes and started it up, No problems until I ran the Rise of the Tomb Raider benchmark, and sure enough 2 minutes in, Black screen and GPU 100%’ What I have tried: I swapped my 1080ti with my wife’s 980ti and ran the Tomb Raider Benchmark again. Her PC finished and hit 60 FPS on ultra, My PC got 3 Minutes in and Black Screened again. I removed the GFX card completely and ran off the Onboard Video and it booted fine no issues but I didn’t run any benchmarks to prove it wasn’t faulty. I contacted ASUS about the GFX card first then about the MOBO, they gave me a checklist and refused to acknowledge me after I replied with the results of the list I have read countless posts on here and toms about similar issues but none of the systems mentioned were in any way similar or showed any solutions. I have seen a post on here about a possible PSU issue so I’m Checking that tonight with my wife’s PSU All thermals were normal when issue occurred (Registered via HWmonitor). The Corsair Link showed Around 350W used when the issue occurred. Prior to this I played 13hrs of Tomb Raider straight without issues. Hello, I am upgrading my computer from AMD to Intel and I have spent the past few days looking at motherboards that would work with the 7700K I am getting. I am a content creator and a heavy gamer so I am looking to be able to overclock my CPU. I have settled on the ASUS Strix line of products, and there are 3 main boards I've been looking at, the Z270E, the Z270F, and the Z270H. I know that there is a bit of change in I/O, the E has wireless capability, the H has 2 more USB 2.0 ports, and the F is pretty basic as far as I can see. I was considering just going with the H as I require quite a few USB ports, but then I noticed it has less VRMs which if I am remembering correctly Linus said that more VRMs typically means more stability in overclocking, price isn't really a factor, but if the E isn't worth it I would preferably not spend another 30$. I saw another forum on this topic and they said it came down to what it was going to be used for, so at this point I just need a bit of advice for my specific situation.

First off, I'm not sure if I should have posted this under the 'programs' board, but since it's motherboard driver related, I felt like it would be more relevant to post here? Let me know if I should have posted it in programs just for future reference. :} Anyway: I might just be completely stupid, but would somebody be able to provide me the exact download link for AI Suite III (Win 10 64bit)? I've already checked https://www.asus.com/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/ROG-STRIX-Z270E-GAMING/helpdesk_download/, but it's either not there, or I'm just stupid. What's worse is that I managed to find it before, but after reformatting my computer, I can't find it. I think this might just be a case of me being antsy and it being right in front of me, but just in case, I was hoping somebody here could tell me which one to download, or give me the link. Thanks. Sorry for such a silly question. :}

I just put together my build the other day and when I went to try to turn it on. It did not post. I have an Asus z270e gaming motherboard with a i7-7700k cpu, corsair vengeance 16 gb, corsair h100i v2 cooler, corsair cx750 power supply, samsung 850 evo boot drive, asus 1070ti. When i turn on the power supply switch the motherboard rgb leds light up near the io, the motherboard red/orange led is on the right side of the motherboard and the red gpu led near the 8 pin connector is on. when i power on the system to boot, all the fans spin, the heat sync lights up, the ram lights up, the gpu lights up. I took out the gpu and have dvi connected to motherboard, thinking maybe my gpu is bad but it still doesnt post. The 4 leds near the 24 pin connector dont light up to indicate what the problem may be in the boot process. Please help me.

Hi everyone, I have an Asus Z270E motherboard and I saw a video the other day saying that I would lose access to some of my SATA ports if I have a M.2 SSD installed. Is this true?

Hi! I'm still new to computers, and am confused about how many fan headers I have, and how many that I have that can be controllable via software like Fan Xpert. I have an Asus Z270-E Gaming, with a NH-D15 in a dual fan configuration. Including the dual fans for the NH-D15, how many PWM case fans can I add that will be recognized by AI Suite/ Fan Xpert? Would my motherboard currently be capable of individually controlling 1x exhaust, 2x bottom intake, and 2x front intake, on top of my dual fan CPU cooler If not, should I get the Asus' fan extension card? Thanks. <3

Hi! I recently swapped out my Cryorig H5 Universal, for a NH-D15, as well as adding a second case fan for the bottom (7 fans including NH-D15 fans). One of my fans doesn't have an adjustable RPM, and I'm going to swap it out for another Noctua fan. The 2x front intake fans are the same as the exhaust fan, and the 2x bottom intake will be the same. So, I'm going to be having 7 fans in total — it might seem a bit overkill, but with the limited space for my tower, my 7700K was reaching 85 degrees when playing even the least demanding of games. Anyway, I took my computer in to Canada Computers, and after the guy installed my fans, he just used adapters and didn't take fan controlling into consideration. Because of this, only 3 of my fans are recognized. I have no idea how to build computers, so I'm sorry if this might be a dumb question: Would I be able to control all the fans with Fan Xpert? I don't think I have enough fan headers, so I was wondering if it's possible to have the 2x intake controlled as one, the 2x bottom intake controlled as one, the exhaust controlled as 1, and the 2 CPU fans controlled as one, essentially turning 7 fans into 4 with the use of splitters. All of the fans that I'd be pairing are the same, so it's not mixing different RPMs. If this is possible, what would I need to buy? Sorry if this is a bit confusing. I'm not very experienced in this, so that's why I'm asking you tech-magicians. ;~} Here's a picture of the fan layout. Like I said: I'll be swapping out the bottom intake (Corsair AF140) with the same Noctua that's beside it. Also: Merry Christmas. :~}
