I have been leaving my computer on pretty much 24/7... shutting it down only every 4-5 days at most. This is a desktop computer and I rarely move it. Last night I noticed the computer was off and I can't get it to turn back on. The components are a mix of new and slightly used that were gifted to me. Motherboard:X-99A CPU: Core i7 5820K GPU: Radeon HD7770 PSU: Thermaltake Smart 500W RAM: Corsair Vengenance LPX 16GB 4X4kit HDD: Western Digital Blue 1TB Cooler: Gammaxx 400 I built this computer in July of this year (2020) and this was my first build as I was turining 13. My Dad is helping me with the forum. I used ASUS EZ tuning Wizard set for air cooling and gaming/video editing. The computer will power up with the 24-pin power cable, but when I plug in the 8 pin it won't power-up (crashes). I pulled all the components out and rebuilt it outside the case. When I pulled out the Mobo, I found a loose screw had been caught behind it. I have tried clearing the CMOS and resetting the CPU, but still have this issue. The thermals were fine 80 C max. I'm worried that this is a mobo or cpu issue. I'm worried the screw caused a short and fried my mobo or cpu. What can I do to test if the mobo or CPU are fried? video when I turn it on WIN_20201017_20_59_59_Pro.mp4

MOBO - X99A Gaming Pro Carbon So this isn't a new computer or a new build i have had it for about 4 months now and its been working perfectly fine up until this morning. I shut it down like regular and when i woke up and went to turn it on every thing seemed normal until it got to the screen where it asked me to click DEL for BIOS or F11 for Startup Menu, typically it'll automatically startup if i don't input any command but instead it just stayed on that screen at first i ignored it and figured it was just running slow so i left to go cook and eat breakfast and when i came back 30 mins later it was on the same screen i tried to click both but keyboard input wasn't working. i tried fixing it for about an hour and a half and am all out of ideas. I made sure it was dust free removed and tried booting with 1 stick of ram, unplugged power and held reset for 20 seconds, removed my ssd and hdd, cleared cmos, etc etc but nothing worked it still is frozen on the MSI start up screen.

So I just replaced my motherboard with an Asus x99a II, and found out it only accepts M.2 PCIe (Woops) So I Got a M.2 sata to PCIe adapter and was wondering 1) Will these actually work. (I mean does it plug and play fairy easily.) 2) How much of a performance hit will I take by using the adapter vsing just plug it right into a M.2 slot that does support Sata? For reference this is what I purchased: https://www.amazon.ca/IOCrest-SY-PEX50073-M-2-PCIe-Adapter/dp/B011D7A4CW/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1493172563&sr=8-5&keywords=m.2+sata+to+pcie It just converts it to a normal sata III drive I think.

So I had to send in my X99A Power AC back to MSI because it crapped out on me after a year and half. I received an "upgraded" X99A Godlike board. The board is obviously refurbished and has scratches on the colored plates. I called MSI and they said they only send out refurbished parts for RMAs. I found that to be a bullshit tactic if my original board is under warranty. That rant is for another time, so I went ahead and put this pc together. I go to boot and it gets stuck on Code 19 "Early Southbridge Initialization". I have tried both Bios A and B, clearing CMOS, and attempting to boot without the Graphics Card. Did MSI send me a refurbished dud?

So I bought the MSI X99a sli plus when I was planning to buy the i7 5820k but now that the prices are similar i would like to buy I7 6800k which is newer, faster and same amount of cores. For my mother board do i really need to update my bios for Broadwell - E? This is my current build that im starting to buy and i would like to know this before going further. (it show already a compatibility note, " Some Intel X99 chipset motherboards may need a BIOS update prior to using Broadwell-E CPUs.") https://pcpartpicker.com/list/D6DfFd How should i proceed? thanks!

My motherboard (MSI x99A Gaming 7) is crashing whenever I hit the save and close button in the bios. I've had issues with this system before, but never this one.

I currently have an msi x99a gaming pro carbon that went out on me. Im looking at buying a new board and notice how much cheaper the parts for the 1151 chipset are. Was the x99a chipset better in performance? Is it worth to change my motherboard and cpu to a 1151? Thank you

I have an MSI x99a gaming pro carbon that just went out on me. MSI informed me that they have none in stock and need to send it for repairs. Since it'll take well over a month now, I'm just going to buy a new one. Do you guys have an suggestions to a comparable motherboard. I am a big fan of the rgb on the msi so that will be a plus. Thank you

Hi, I have just received a used MSI GTX 1050ti double fan armor edition that was advertised as "fans spinning, no signal". I am hoping to solve the issue with your help but I won't complain if I have to take it to a repair shop either as it was really quite cheap. System specs: MB: MSI X99A RAIDER GPU (previously used): 1070 Founders edition RAM: 16GB DDR4 G.Skill Ripjaws 3200MHz (currently running as 2133MHz with XMP off) CPU: Intel i7-5820K @3.3GHz (currently running at stock speeds) PSU: SilentiumPC L1 vero 600W bronze 80+ (Polish brand) OS: Win10 pro I will break the problem down for easier digestion and to show what steps I had already taken 1. The 1050ti fans are spinning, the PC does not shut down but there is no display on the monitor (when running 1050ti by itself) 2. 1050ti does not appear in device manager while it sits in a second PCIe slot (first occupied by a 1070) 3. After searching through some forums I uninstalled nvidia drivers using DDU (to no avail) 4. My motherboard's bios (Board explorer) shows my 1070 in either PCIe slot I put it in but the slot 1050ti is plugged into is always shown as "empty" My guess is that something is wrong with the cards power intake. What do you think, is it salvagable?

A few weeks ago I ran into issues with my PC, and I assumed my raid array failed. I'm working on it now, and I am unable to reinstall windows. On the screen where windows installs, the circle either freezes after a few minutes, or BSODs and displays an error message (Your PC Ran into a problem, restarting) at various stages of fullness (ie only the first 20 or so characters show up). I can get into the Bios just fine, and my next step is going to be resetting the CMOS. Relevant specs are MSI G7 X99A i7 6800K Reset CMOS and it gave me uncorrectable error after a rather short boot time. Now it's giving me error A2 on my motherboard

Two weeks ago, I had to RMA my motherboard and PSU for defects. I put a post here on the forum if you want to see it. Anyway, the replacements came today and put everything back together. The system starts up and all the lights and fans start up and what not but only displays the qcode "00" and just idles. It doesn't go into the BIOS. I've gone through the basic troubleshooting methods (reseat all components, clearing cmos, breadboarding etc.) and doing a BIOS flashback. I'm getting very frustrated because I have only used this PC for 3 days in the past 3 weeks. After some digging, I found out that a potential problem could be the CPU. I hope it doesn't come to that because I don't have the original box anymore and I already dropped many cash on this build. Here are the specs: X99A II Asus Mobo i7-6850k Corsair H115i 2x Asus 1080 Strix SLI 32 GB Corsair DDR4 LPX RAM 850w EVGA Supernova G2 PSU Samsung 950 Pro 512GB 3x 2TB Seagate HDD I was wondering if any of you guys had any suggestions on what I should do. Thanks for the help.

Hey guys, sometime near the 16th of February i will be building a fairly overkill PC, Question here is, what motherboard should i use for features/value: x99-A or x99 Deluxe (both asus) At some point i will definitely be overclocking the CPU to stretch a bit more life/performance out of it Does the x99 Deluxe have many features that make it worth the price? (pricing is in AUD, $450 for x99A or cheapest deluxe i could find was $570 others were around $715+) Rest of build: H110i GT cpu cooler 2 x Gigabyte g1 GTX 980ti 16gb dual channel 2666mhz ram (no brand yet) intel i7 5820k 2 x 500gb samsung evo NZXT noctis 450 case HX 1000i platinum PSU Acer XB270HU 27" IPS 4ms 1440p 144hz GSync monitor

So as the title says one of the hubs on the back opf my motherboard won't transfer data, it transfers power but no data. I checked the device manager thinking something may be wrong with them but it says they are all working properly. Then I thought I would check the BIOS because it is an RMA board. but the USB ports were all enabled in the bios as well. IDK what to do and any help would be appreciated Thanks, Jato Main Specs., MOBO: MSI X99A SLI Krait Ram: 32Gb Kingston fury DDR4 at 2400 Mhz. Bought the MSI X99a Gaming 7 and 2-980 ti hybrids. This is my first PC build. And I have no idea which Evga Sli bridge to get cause want it to look good. Looking at EVGA Pro SLI Bridge V2 But not sure what size to get, I can't figure out which PCI slots the cards have to go in, cause not sure how big the spots are. And have no idea what Sli Bridge is right size. Any help on this is much apreciated thanks. I understand the sli bridge is no different then ones that comes with board, I just want it for looks.

MSI X99A Gaming 7 with the MSI SLI bridge
elsewhere posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
The MSI X99A Gaming 7 has four PCIe x16 slots (slots 1, 3, 5 and 6). The manual specifies that slots 1 and 3 should be used for 2-way SLI. However, MSI's SLI bridge is 60mm, so the only configuration in which the bridge will fit is using slots 3 and 6. However, this configuration doesn't seem to work with SLI. I was able to get it working with the cards in slots 1 and 3, as well as in 3 and 5 (with a flexible SLI bridge). Any thoughts on why 3 and 6 wouldn't be supported? They should have the same number of PCIe lanes, right? MSI lists this bridge as being compatible with this motherboard, but that doesn't seem to be the case. It's too bad they only seem to be making the 60mm version. So this looks nice, but doesn't actually work in SLI.
