Hello! i Just did a smal Project with a Raspberry pi and Teamviewer. Easy way to have a reliable wake-on-lan relay allways up and runing you don't need to open ports in your router, so therefore you still have security. Requirement PC runing Windows or MAC OSx on Hardwire your computers network card has to be compatible with Wake-On-Lan Raspberry pi Freshly updated some spare time to spend recomended to have a Teamviewer Account for easy access to your computer and Raspberry Pi Raspberry pi install the latest Raspbian Jesse or update the one you have. install Teamviewer Host for Raspberry pi on your Raspberry pi. you can download it from Teamviewer's homepage. (write down your teamviewer ID 9-Didgets you will need it later) Computer install Teamviewer allow easy acess, in settings under General you will find the Wake-On-Lan Section. press configurate and chose Other Teamviewer in my Local Network, put the 9-didget id from your Raspberry pi and press Add and then hit ok. this setting will be stored in Teamviewers servers so they can relay the Wake-on-lan package throug your raspberry pi. last part in getting WOL to work is to go in to your main computers BIOS and look for the Wake-On-Lan and Enable it. save and exit your bios. the wake on lan only works if the computer is in hibernate, sleep or shut down (soft off this does not support mac osx) now you can add your computer and raspberry pi on your Teamviewer account for easy access from another computer that's running Teamviewer or your Smartphone. you shuld be able to start your computer over Teamviewer be pressing the On/Off button. this is my experience.

This is my first attempt at setting up a home file server so I appreciate any help I can get and apologize if I am missing something obvious. Just recently I threw together a home file server running ubuntu server 20.04. I spend most of my day at school and would like to be able access my server from school to transfer files to and from school and my home server and I thought to use Teamviewer for that. I looked up online tutorials and they all seem to be for ubuntu 20.04 while I am running ubuntu SERVER 20.04 w no GUI. I still went through the steps to install it but when I go to launch it i get this output : Init... xprop: unable to open display '' CheckCPU: SSE2 support: yes Checking setup... Launching TeamViewer ... Launching TeamViewer GUI ... Aborted (core dumped) It seems that it installed ok but is running into an issue when it goes to launch the GUI. Is there anything else I can do to get this to work or try a whole new idea? What I want most is to be able to transfer and save files from my home server to wherever I am at. I appreciate any help w this. Thanks!

Hello people, I am currently facing a major issue with Teamviewer. I was called by a sales rep who signed me up for a trial. He then mailed me if I was interested in a trial and I replied yes. I ended up not using the trial nor reading his mail afterward. (big mistake on my part) To my surprise, I find that I am being invoiced for an annual subscription to TV. However, I didn't even activate a trial license even once. Upon reading his mail I see him mention that I must revert to his mail in seven days if I am not satisfied. However, there is no mention that if I do not respond I would be automatically signed up for an annual subscription. (I can share screenshots of the entire email thread if that helps) I really would like to know how to resolve this. I did not activate the license. I was not provided a EULA and therefore have not signed any. There was no mention that not mailing my dissatisfaction would mean an agreement to start the annual license. I feel it is very unfair to be billed for something I never even used once. I was not even provided a contract to sign where it was mentioned that I would be starting a license. Is there anyone who may be able to tell me what to do? They are asking for 800$+ and have sent an automated email that they may forward this to debt collectors. This is a borderline scam, would really like to raise awareness about this.

Hello, I need to access my Raspberry using TeamViewer. However, my laptop is a 3:2 aspect ratio screen at a resolution of 3240x2160. This is causing my Pi to have black borders when I access it through TeamViewer I've been trying to look online for a solution, however, I haven't found one that works.

This Post from Reddit on r/SysAdmin details how TeamViewer Allegedly charged them for “Future Uses” which is just wrong, if true. The Comments on the Reddit Thread are others talking about how Linus had issues originally with TeamViewer as well. Also how he had to deal with them again. Hi all, I have been having trouble setting up Wake on Lan via public address on TeamViewer, especially in terms of port forwarding. I know that Wake on Lan for my computer is working since I tried another piece of software on my phone to wake my computer while on the same network and it was fine. I am pretty sure that it is the port forwarding is at fault since using http://www.portchecktool.com/ shows that Port 9 is not open. I attached a screenshot of my router's gateway (Fios Gateway G1100). I am not sure how to fill this out, but what I did is the static IP of my PC, UDP Port 9 to 9, and forward to the same port as incoming port Did I do it right? There is not a lot of information about my router. I also made sure that I set a dynamic DNS just in case my public IP is dynamic. Thanks

TLDR: Use teamviewer for everything, looking for best laptop that is/has a: cheap, long battery life, 1920x1080 hdmi output, high speed wifi I am the proud owner of 7 PCs that run a mishmash of linux and windows 10 (and DOS but that one can barely do anything). I have a Headless Ghost* (https://www.headlessghost.com/) plugged into each one so that I can access each one with teamviewer with an extremely low rate of display driver issues. I access 6 of the PCs with the main battlestation most of the time, but the issue is when I'm on the go. I have a 2011 badass laptop (quad core, dedicated workstation graphics, the works) with a busted battery that I just plug into a wall whenever I need to use it. I carry a 40 ft extension cord with me at all times. I never actually use the laptop anymore, I just use it as a wireless terminal that I use to access my other PCs. The PCs are either hardlined into my home network (100+MbPs) or into the internet at my university (500+MbPs... mmmmm). I was looking into building a replacement battery for my laptop out of some old 18650s that I have lying around (I'm a mechanical engineer with no sense of danger, btw), which turned into a plan to build a PC into an aluminum briefcase for a few months that got sidetracked, to a search for a chromebook I could install teamviewer on, to me seeing that none of those have an hdmi output, or the ability to output 1920x1080 graphics, or they don't have gigabit wifi/ethernet/something that would let me take advantage of the GODLIKE internet speeds my PCs are connected to. So what should I buy?

I have a MSI z97s SLI Krait Edition. I need to have Wake-On-Lane ability but I can not find it in the BIOS. Everytime I try to turn my tower on via Teamviewer I can't get the tower to come on. What am I doing wrong? WOL is turned on with my Realtek PCIe GBE FAMILY Adapter. I am running Win 10. I need to be able to access my tower from my mac laptop when I am on the go via teamviewer. I appreciate any help you give me.

Hey there! My pops love his Pixel 2, but sadly it doesn't really have any reliable remote software outside of AirDroid (and that only works efficiently when plugged in via USB). He's an elderly gentleman who works in construction and most modern tech frustrates him (this, why being able to remote into it with Teamviewer is so vital). He loves the Pixel interface, and I'd like to get him an upgrade from it. Price is no object, I'd like to get him the best. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Guys! So I have been using Teamviewer for some time, NOT for business, but to access the PC's in my own account and sometimes to help parents, family and friends if they have any issues. But lately, this thing just stops working, I can access one way but I cant access the other way around. Teamviewer had flagged my account as Commercial, but when I wrote to them that I was only freaking accessing PC's in my own account, which could not be deemed as commercial, they took that flag off. But lately it has become very frustrating. So I am looking for a replacement, free if possible to remotely access my own machines. I am willing to pay if I have to, but not freaking $50 / month, that is ridiculous. Any Suggestions?

I contacted help support for having a bad windows 10 update recently (unable to play youtube videos) via Microsoft Help Support Chat, they got in control of my laptop and fixes it themself via an applet downloaded from the Microsoft site. When she connected, my wallpaper went black, same with teamviewer, I got curious as to why these remote accessing programs turn the client system's wallpaper to black. My only guess is to avoid encounters of inappropriate photos.

teamviewer Teamviewer Resolution Problem, Help!
mark63424 posted a topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
I am connecting to my desktop computer from my laptop. The Desktop computer (host) has a lower resolution display than my laptop and when I connect to it the maximum resolution I can stream it at is the maximum resolution of the host. This results in either a small window with black borders when connecting or if I scale to full screen it looks blurry and ugly. My question is can I use team viewer at a higher resolution than the host computers monitor. (My laptop display is 2160x1440 and the host computer is running at 1920x1080)- 2 replies

Hi everyone! I have a Windows workstation at home with a dedicated Ryzen CPU and a GTX 1080 which I mostly use for working with Maya, Cinema4D and After Effects. Beside this workstation I got a 2012 MacBook Air which of course definatily cannot compete with my other machine when it comes to rendering speed. To come to the point: It often happens that I'm away for like a week or even longer and therefore I want to remote control my workstation from anywhere I am. Why I won't just use teamviewer? The thing is, that I also want to have the ability to start and shut down the machine at every time. Maybe by using something like Wake on Lan. One more thing: It would be even better I do not have to use Windows in any way. To sum up I want my MacBook Air to have the power of my Ryzen and my 1080, controlled over the Internet. Anyone of you got an idea how this could work? Greetings Mike

Not sure if this is the best place to post this but it seems to fit better here than anywhere else. First some backstory, I work for a company that does building automation, mainly HVAC, our controllers are IP based so you can access everything the device's HTTP page and most of the time we just port them out to the internet for remote access. But many clients don't want these devices ported out for "security reasons", so we get around this by using Team Viewer to access a computer onsite. When the client dost have a computer onsite they can dedicate to our equipment we install a Gigabyte BRIX micro PC with Team Viewer and any software we may need. The great thing with using the BRIX PCs is that we can install them along side our automation controllers so the client never has to see it or deal with it, and it mostly guarantees no one will get curious and mess with it. Here's the only problem, if you don't have a monitor plugged in, Team Viewer just comes up with a black screen when you log in. It won't display anything, even if you send a Ctl+Alt+Delete command, or reboot it, or send any of the commands. We have been getting around this issue by plugging in HDMI emulators(pics attached). This solution was worked out long before I started working here but I can't help feeling like there is a better way to do this. So who better to ask than the LTT community! Is there some software, or driver tweak, out there that can do the same thing? I don't know if it's a Team Viewer issue or a hardware/driver issue, and if it's a driver issue I don't know enough to start poking around for a solution. Also attached is all the information I have handy on the Gigabytes we use. Let me know if you need any more information. Any help is appreciated, and if I'm in the wrong category just let me know where to go and I'll re-post.

Hello guys, i know that teamviewer has been hacked so what do you recommend for me to use as a remote desktop and use it in my phone

Hey guys I have a strange issue that I hope someone here can solve. I hope its informative enough for a diagnosis. My system: Intel Core i3 3240 @ stock EVGA GTX 960 SSC @ stock, 364.72 drivers 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM ASRock B75M-DGS R2.0 Motherboard Windows 10 Home 64 bit About 2 months ago, I used Teamviewer ver. 11.0.56083 and first noticed some horrible lagging that I never had before. Whenever I open the start menu, my mouse would lag like I'm running the desktop at 1 fps, if I close it then the mouse will free up and I would be able to move but whilst running Teamviewer it will happen occasionally no matter if the start menu is open or not. I've provided an example video of what it looks like during recording. In the footage it looks like a computer freeze but in actuality, I'm trying to move the mouse away from the start menu and click outside at those 1 fps speeds. So I said okay, maybe Teamviewer has some recent update that's causing this. But recently I tried out OBS v0.657b only to be presented with the same issue. How I knew something was horribly wrong was that I had OBS set up from before to record my desktop at 60 fps and I've done numerous tinkering with settings to achieve that. Plus I have this exact same version of OBS on my laptop, set to use QuickSync, same Windows 10 and it has no such issues. The first thing I noticed was the high CPU usage. With my settings to QuickSync or NVENC I never had such issues so I investigated there first and saw that dwm.exe along with COMODO Firewall were using a lot of CPU power. I uninstalled the firewall leaving me with dwm.exe at 20 - 30% whenever I use OBS or Teamviewer. That CPU usage is normal only when I'm capturing using x264, when I use NVENC or QuickSync, dwm.exe should be at 3 - 6% CPU usage. But even when I use to use x264 and my CPU usage is 70 - 100%, I would never experience lag like this before. Shadowplay still works perfectly fine however. And the funny thing is, if I have Shadowplay in Shadow mode while I use OBS or Teamviewer, the lagging is completely gone, everything works just like how it should no matter how much CPU dwm.exe is using. So can anyone please help? what's really causing this problem? The Lag Issue.mp4

Hi, I have a desktop PC at home that I would like to access from my laptop while I'm away at school. TeamViewer is the obvious solution to this, but only works when the computer is online. I found out about Wake On LAN, which can, as it states, wake up your computer from sleep or even complete shutdown (after, say, a power outage) and make it accessible from your other device. I've gotten this to work over a local network, but it's apparently possible over external networks. Could anyone guide me to a place to figure out how to configure my router/Teamviewer for remote use? I couldn't find anything that explained everything I needed.

I've got an HTPC at home that I access remotely with TeamViewer (unattended access). It works great for when I want to get in, add some new movies and disconnect, but sometimes I've connected to it when it's been in active use. This can be a problem because I don't know if someone's watching a movie at that moment, so I could be interrupting them. If I see the HTPC online in my list, is there a way that I can tell if it's in active use before connecting to it? So I can make sure that I'm messing around only when it's on, but idle. Thanks!
