pc specs: - Amd fx-8320 - Gtx 560 ti windforce - Corsair 8gb ram in dual channel - Gigabyte ga-78lmt-s2 mobo - Seventeam 620W psu - 1x Pny cs900 120gb ssd, this where the OS is installed - 1x Seagate 1tb hd -Windows 10 x64 (i bought it used, and didnt reinstall windows so i dont know how old the installation is) So i'm having this bsod when playing games and under heavy loads, for example it happens when i run cinebench r23. it shows the stop code: whea uncorrectable error I thought it as the gpu overheating as one of its fans are not working properly( already purchased a new one waiting for it to arrive), but it sometimes happens with the gpu cold. so idk, could it be the PSU, failling to give enough power for my parts. it showed some artifacts twice in the screen, and the second time it freezed with a bunch of red and white artifacts(but i think this was because of the gpu overheat) i already followed a bunch of tutorials of troubleshooting this problem and it seems that is not a problem with software or OS, but i'm willing to try to reinstall windows. please help, i bought it last week and i can't really play with it because i keep corrupting my save files. here are my dump files: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1TDZg6tpJYshMR9uyrx90A4-SNlHMvcvE/view?usp=sharing

Hi all Going to go about OCing my 1800X this weekend on a Gigabye X370 Gaming 5, cooled with an NH-U12S (dual fan). Just have some questions, if that's all good? 1) What are people using to stress Ryzen? I liked using X264 over on /r/overclocking, but was wondering if there was something better to use with Ryzen? Have heard people say Realbench/P95 is good. Which version, 26.6 without AVX or beyond with? 2) Was wondering what CPU VDD18 and CPU VDDP were in the BIOS? AM happy with the rest, but am not familiar with them. The Gigabyte published AM4 overclocking quick guide isn't too specific on this either. Thanks all!

his was my first time building a pc. What i did was install the cpu. (i5 6500) Then i put my heat sink on the cpu. For cable management i wanted to take it off and put it a different way. So what i did is lifted it up realizing the thermal paste was already on the CPU. After i saw that i placed it back on the cpu really quickly under 5 sec. When i finished my build i checked the CPU temps they were 29 degrees Celsius. To see if my CPU is fine, im going to stress test it but dont know how to check the temperatures. I opened the software on my old pc and it looks like this: ( I need to know how to read the temps before i run this program on my actual bulld)

Hi Team, Thought I would test Aida64 today. Test time, 5 minutes on each setting. Settings: Picture 1: Stress CPUPicture 2: Stress CPU + FPUPicture 3: Stress CPU + FPU + Cache Picture 3 show the highest voltage but lower temps than pic 2, and the CPU stress on it's own I was quite happy with (however I'm not really sure what I'm looking at). Opinions? CPU: i7 6700k overclocked to 4.6GHz Thanks, Kurt

Hi, I am using Aida and fumark to test CPU and GPU temps by stress tests. Is fine to have 78°C on very low overclocked GPU (GTX970 MSI 4G) after 30 minutes of run (fans 100%) and about 65-68°C on CPU (i5-6500) after 15minutes? (simutaelously with gpu stress test)

It's been around 2 years since I built my PC. I was getting some weird memory exception errors on Windows 10. Windows would not shut down properly and I would get errors when running some programs and when shutting down my PC. Windows eventually failed to start, as a result of maybe faulty RAM or an update. I am now running Windows 10 on an SSD. I have not really used Windows since. Though I just turned the PC on and I think I got the same error again. I want to stress test my RAM fully and put it to the test. I do NOT want to stress test my CPU as it's on the stock cooler and I might have applied the paste incorrectly. My temps go up to 70, 80 and at times 90. Degrees Celsius. So yeah I don't want to stress test my CPU. Some people on forums recommend Prime 95 which tests both of them. Why? How can you stress test your RAM while running Windows? I'm thinking Memtest86 or Memtest86+ are sufficient; which one's more suitable for my hardware? And how many hours should I run it for? I can run it overnight and don't mind running it for longer if necessary. My build: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/MGbkhM Note: I have the stock cooler installed

Nikolai at https://superuser.com/questions/547822/how-many-passes-are-enough-with-memtest#550641 said that memtest stresses the CPU. Which has me worried here. Does Memtest stress test your CPU? I have a decent cooler but I have not installed it yet. I currently have the stock cooler and I am unsure if the paste was applied correctly. You never truly know until you take it off.

I need software to stess test my i7 4790K. A lot of people recommend Prime95 but some have said it overvolts and can damage my cpu? Are there any others? What about the Intel Stress Test software? Consider the fact that I have the impression either the CPU or my mobo are faulty so I don't just want to ramp up the CPU temps to their highest, but I want to find out if the CPU returns any errors. I have a Dark Rock Pro 3 so temp wise, I don't think it would overheat.

Hey guyz Sorry for my bad english. I was overclocking my rx 570 4 gb.. now i am a little bit confused.. i always used unigien heaven and devil may cry 5 to check the stability of a graphic card.. i found the sweet spot .. but when i was playing dmc 5 after 2 or 3 days i found it kinda buggy.. I can't say it was artifact.. to me it looks like a game bug.. and due to my slower internet connection i don't want to download it again.. i saw one artifact also in another game.. which i think is due to memory oc.. now can you guyz tell me the true software which can make sure me that the gpu is stable.. and sofware should be free too.. I don't have.money to spend on it.. just tell me the name of the software i will start oc again from scratch

Hello My PC just powered off (hard drop) while playing Battlefield V on the new island map. It was during a point where a lot of explosions were happening and vehicles were driving around. At this time, the CPU was running above 95% usage and hit 100% quite often. The PC hard powered off and then turned itself back on. I had already disabled ASUS Anti-Surge protection in the UEFI settings. I then opened Prime95 and FurMark and ran them both at the same time. My PC did the same thing and hard powered off after only 30 seconds. I repeated this another 3 times the exact same way all within 10 to 30 seconds of running the 2 stress tests together. I then ran just Prime95 (CPU only) and the PC did not power off at all. I also ran just FurMark (GPU only) and the PC also did not power off at all. I then opened Prime95 and let it run for a few mins, then as soon as I clicked to start the FurMark stress test, the system hard powers off literally as the FurMark window opens - every time. The only thing I can think of is that it is the power supply not being able to handle both CPU and GPU at the same time. I made sure to use separate dedicated PCIe power cables for my GPU instead of sharing one power cable but that did not help. This don't believe that this is a heat issue as my temperatures for CPU, GPU, Motherboard VRMs and GPU VRMs are well under control. Specs: Intel Core i7 6700K AMD Radeon R9 390X 16GB (4x4GB) 3200MHz DDR4 ASUS Z170-DELUXE Motherboard Corsair AX860 (non-i) Power Supply I am thinking of getting a new power supply but I am cautious and thought I would ask here first. Any help is appreciated.

Hi LTT forum! OS:Win10 CPU:4930k (stock) RAM:16GB (dual channel unfortunately) Mobo:Asus P9X79 Pro GPU: Asus Strix 1080 ti (stock) SSD: 1TB Kingston PSU: 850W BeQuiet Monitor 1: Benq Zowie XL250-B Monitor 2,3: Benq Zowie XL2430 All but monitors, SSD, GPU are almost 7 years old. Monitor 1 is hooked up with Display Port and runs 240hz fine. Monitor 2 is also using DisplayPost and runs its 144hz fine. Monitor 3 is only using an old HDMI cable atm so is limited to 60hz which for now works. My issue is when even playing World of Warcraft Classic my main monitor will go blank for 3-4 seconds. This is easily repeatable using Furmark. "Preset:1080" and will cause multiple black screens for the same 3-4 seconds. I just ran the test. Fan speed 34%. First Black Screen 1/4 the way through at 62 degrees C. Temp levelled out at 65. 5 total black screen occurrences. Since having this issue I've had one occasion where all the fans not spinning on the GPU. The card still ran but I noticed instability and I quickly adjusted the fan curve in MSI Afterburner. I imagine this is the most likely cause of my issue. But its interesting this happened after the initial symptoms. When unplugging one of the monitors to only use 2 monitors, there is no blank screen when running Furmark. When I test again with my other DVI-D 1440p monitor it still goes blank at 3 monitors. What I've tried so far: Different configuration of monitors. Setting other monitors as Primary Monitor in Nvidia Control Panel Lowering the Refresh Rates of all monitors Unplugging all unnecessary internal drives and external connections Updating drivers with a clean update via Geforce Experience custom install option I reinstalled Windows a few weeks ago due to this issue and that didn't fix it I originally upgraded my monitors because I was having the same issue with the same 240hz main monitor, a 60hz 1400p DVI-D second and a Display Port to DVI-D 1080p TV. Hoping that the conversion cable from DP to DVI was causing it or something. The only constant is the PC and the 240hz monitor. I understand the Furmark is putting stress on the GPU but playing WOW Classic on the (Classic) old school graphics settings still triggers the Blank Screen in busy environments. I've searched on and off for months and I don't have any new ideas. I did buy the GPU used but it was from a friend of a friend who didnt OC it and I've not done much OCing nor has it been OCed for long. My PSU has had a rough life. Once or twice I've had instability and the fan wasnt spinning (it has no fanless mode) and poking the fan with a pencil sent the fan to spin at max for a few minutes as it cooled down. But removing all nonessential drives and devices I thought could help reduce PSU load. Thanks in advance

Hi, I made a post 2 months ago about having issues with powering up my PC and experiencing crashes during gaming without any overclocks. Since then, I've replaced the motherboard and PSU. However, I still experienced random crashes in the form of black screens and artifacting during gaming and normal use (web-browsing, music, etc). I suspected, it was the graphics card, so I tried a spare card and the issues stopped. I issued an RMA and EVGA sent me a replacement graphics card. There was no more crashing while browsing windows and it could run the Firestrike stress test without crashing, so I assumed there were no more faults with the system and decided to start overclocking my CPU. My 5820K managed to run the RealBench stress test for 2 hours at 4.6Ghz, 1.3V with temperatures staying in the high 60s to low 70s. I ran the test again with XMP enabled but failed, so I tried different CPU SA voltages - 1.02, 1.03 and 1.04 with no luck. The stress tests would fail in the form of a black screen. I decided to try the same overclock with TW3 and it crashed within the first 5 minutes, showing artifacting before crashing. I eventually reverted all settings to stock but still crashed. I then tried Unigine Heaven and it crashed during the first loop, showing artifacts before black screening. I'm thinking the CPU or Memory could be faulty since I've just about replaced everything else. I've tried running memtest86 but it found 0 errors. This leaves the CPU but can a faulty CPU cause artifacting? I'm also thinking EVGA did not really replace the card when I RMA'd it but rather sent me the same card. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Specs: CPU: i7 5820K Motherboard: MSI X99A Raider (previously MSI X99S SLI Plus) Memory: Kingston HyperX Predator 4x4GB, 2400Mhz Video Card: EVGA GTX 1080 Ti SC Black Edition PSU: Silverstone Strider Titanium 800W (Previously Cooler master V1000)

i baught this pc about 3 years back,it has i7 4790k, gigabyte motherboard GA-Z97M-D3H, Kingston HyperX KHX1866C10D3/8G, gtx 750ti and crossair 450w psu also cooler master cpu cooler that i just baught in order to fix problem this pc was running fine earlier but since last 6 months i am facing random restarts whenever in stress and while playing fifa specifically . i thaught it was a heating issue so i baught that cpu cooler and ran a stress test it shows max temp to reach 59 degree @ 4.4 ghz (stock speed) but at this speed after 10 or so minutes of stress test again i am facing random restarts and that too without any BSOD i tried under-clocking it to 3.3 ghz and now the max temp under stress reaches 45 and the pc does not restarts in stress test but while playing fifa i am still facing the issue tries re installing windows, reinstalling fifa, cleaning up dust, re assembling the pc but still i m facing these restarts may b this is due to the power supply but i am afraid if i buy new and still face the issue whenever i overclock my processor ie around 4.6-4.7 and ran a stress test it just restarts immediately but at 3.3 its fine unless i game on it plz provide a sollution

Hi all, Time came to re-do my OC on my 1700X, after leaving it 'as is' at 3.8 using 1.35v. This was validated using a quick and dirty 1hr long run of Aida64, breaking all of my own rules. However, busy life, etc. However, I really wanted to see what it was capable of. I used OCCT, as it was recommended to me. Currently my CPU is sitting at 3.9Ghz, but 1.35v crashed almost instantly. I'm not at 1.375v, which is rock solid stable. MB temps appear to be absolutely fine, hovering between 70-85C on a Strix-F X370 from Asus. CPU package is around 72C, which is a little warm for me on AM4, but it's ok. Voltage under load fluctuates between 1.37 and 1.38v, which is acceptable. I wanted to know, however, if there was a test that was more... middle of the road? Aida has always been too light, for me, and I am not sure if my Intel go to (X264 from /r/overclocking) is good enough using the standard 16 threads/normal workload? I want to validate this OC at 3.9Ghz, as it is clear this chip can do it, even with a little air cooler, but still. Would like that VCore and temps to drop. Any help would be awesome! Best, Raffles

Stress both CPU and GPU during stress tests?
Zydotc posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
When people report what their CPU or GPU are performing at idle / load, do you stress both at the same time? I am trying to compare my systems ability to cool the CPU down at load. With the GPU under high load at the same time, it does rise a couple deg C. So just want to know how people typically report CPU and GPU Temperatures so I can be consistent. -
I had this problem for a while after I installed Windows 10. When I game, usually Source games (CS:GO, TF2), my APU gets really, really hot, to the point where my computer just freezes in the middle of a game. However, when I use a stress test overnight, like FurMark and OCCT, it does not reach alarming temperatures and does not freeze. I do not use the GPU in my APU when I game, I have a new graphics card, so I have no idea why it heats up this much. Please help, it is interfering with my matches. EDIT: Forgot to mention that when gaming, my APU doesn't even use 100% load both GPU and CPU wise.

I just installed Windows 10 and drivers. What are the best programs for stress testing my new system? As well as how / how long I should be performing these tests (First PC build) I just want to make sure my system is stable and working properly before I start usage. I notice Prime95 doesn't show a Win10 download? Anyway, thanks a lot for you information

So I'm gonna order components for my new work/gaming/elite build and I was wondering what programs atm. are good ones to run stress tests or whether there is the need anymore? I haven't built a rig in a long time (probably over 6 years) so I'm kinda out of the loop when it comes to stress test programs. I have no intention of overclocking so the main point is just to assure that the rig will run smoothly while gaming and photo editing. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This is on an open air test bench. My Idle is around 24-28 When I run AIDA64's GPGPU Benchmark for the 4790K, temperature monitoring program freezes and stops updating. CPU load is monitored to be at 50% as benchmark runs. When it's done, core temp registers a peak temperature of 82-87 across the cores. When I run Intel's Extreme Tuning Utility's stress test. After 15 minute, peak temperature is 58-63. Monitoring program do not freeze. I have not ran Prime95 as I heard it damages CPU. EDIT: Samfisher on 3rd post has informed me Prime95 until V27.9 are safe to run and I have ran the benchmark. Peak temperature is 54-59. So how bout it, what benchmark should I run to find what my peak temperature should be? Also, may as well ask, what temperature difference between idle and load would be considered average? I'm running Noctua NH-D15 with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut on an open air system so I'd expect top level performance. I'm willing to repaste my CPU if it'll help. All response are appreciated thank you!

Hi, Not sure this is the correct place to post this, but I tried stress testing my i5 4460 CPU just for fun. When I ran the testing program, all cores were at 100% usage, except for the first core, which remained around 50. Why is this? My only guess would be that this is just overhead the computer leaves, so you can start another task if you want to?
