Hey guys, there was recently a severe electrical storm, and my PC has been acting weird since then. While I am playing games, such as Ghost Recon Breakpoint, or even Tomb Raider (2013), my PC will shut down, and the CPU diagnostic light will light up on my MOBO. I have stress tested each of my components and my PC worked fine. It only crashes while gaming. I assume the issue lies within the motherboard as each of the parts have to communicate with each other more while gaming than running stress tests. But I also have reason to suspect that it is my GPU (weird artifacts in games, monitors randomly loosing connection, and poor visual quality in games (my friend plays the same games, and the graphics are much better despite being on the same settings)). Note the system is at stock settings. Hey Everyone. So, almost 2 years ago, I built my first PC from scratch - with fairly decent hardware for the time, Intel Core i5 4690k 16GB DDR3 GTX 970 Well, almost 2 years later, and a few modifications later: New Hard Drives New SSD New GPU - GTX 1070 Project Dark Storm is due for an upgrade once again. Gaming, It does everything I need - for the time being, and maybe for maybe one more generation, But I feel that I need to upgrade based on other aspects I am using the system for, such as; Game Development - unity, unreal engine - what ever else my university course decides to teach us... Video editing Virtualisation Servers My i5 just isn't cutting it anymore - and my flat mate said he would by my CPU, Motherboard, Ram and Cooler to upgrade his FX-6100 system. Trouble is, I'm not sure what route to go. Do I go on the mainstream platform and go with the i7 6700k, or do I go to the enthusiast platform of x99 and get the i7 6800k? I do want the extra cores for virtualisation and server use, but is it worth it? - I'd be able to afford the jump, but not too sure if the performance gap is worth the jump. And a second question. My current build - Project Dark Storm, Mark II, It is currently a no frills, no lights, blacked out system (with some slight blue accents). I went this route as I wasn't a huge fan of the red and black colour scheme. But now, I'm considering renaming and re-theming the build, the name I have in mind is "Project Lucifer" or "Project Poseidon", colour schemes Red and Blue respectively. So, to summarise: Which platform, z170 or x99 What theme do I go with Thanks for reading - and I would appreciate the feedback/advice.

Hi guys, I recently purchase a XPG Storm SSD M.2 heatsink. I read some good reviews online and I found a couple of videos on YouTube. I'm using the cooler on a Kingston hyperx and after running a few stress tests I noticed 5°C drop, from ~71C to ~66C. The SSD comes with a sticker on top. My question is, does removing that sticker can help in a better heat transfer between the SSD and the heatsink? Or will make it worst? The heatsink comes with a thermal pad of the same lenght of the SSD. I'm not really worried about losing the warranty, I live in Mexico and is pretty hard to get any customer support from manufacturers. Cheers.

I decided to buy a mechanical keyboard First off all, i dont know what switches i like more, blues or browns. I like clicky ones, i've felt razer greens, and i fancied them, i heard they are simular to cherry mx blues, but everyone says for gaming and beat games (like osu!) cherry mx browns are much more better. Second of all, i don't know which keyboard to get from CM storm line - CM storm TK, XT, Rapid-i, or Ultimate. They cost all about the same price take or give, but i dont know about quality. I dont care if its ten-keyless, or with 10 keys, and layout is the same for all of them. Is there any difference between them? If i dont buy cm storm line, i think the next option would be Corsair Strafe. What do you think about it? Need help with somebody who has an experience with mechanical keyboards Thanks ! yzzy ;(

Hey folks! I'm in the market for a gaming laptop. I'm going to be using it with Adobe CC, Blender, Maya, Unity, and Unreal Engine. And of course, some AAA games. I have a $2000-$3000 CAD budget. I need the portability because I'm at school, so I need to have the ability to make last minutechanges to projects, etc. Some specs/features that I'm looking for include: 15.6" display (preferably with a 1080p display, for battery life and performance) NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980m (preferably the 8 GB variant) Intel Core i7 5th Generation (Skylake would be nice, but its probably too new) A metal body (aluminum or Al-alloy) A decent trackpad (I'm coming from a 2011 Macbook Pro, so I'm a little spoiled ) The closest I've come to these specs is with the Digital Storm Triton in the following config: https://www.digitalstorm.com/configurator.asp?id=1143332 It has the metal body and 1080p 15.6" display, but 4th Gen i7, 4GB 980m. Can anyone give me any alternatives to this? Or tell me about your experience with Digital Storm? Thanks!

I was just curious if anyone who signed up for the NA beta received there key recently? I have been waiting a while and a few of my buds have gotten theirs. Also if anyone has a few keys they're not using, could I perhaps obtain one? If not it's cool and I will just wait. Thank you.

So on the weekend sale I got Ninja Storm 3 FB and Revolution (do not judge me please.) Both games crash after I go through the config menu with the graphics and such. And yes I have done the easy updated drivers and tried with fullscreen and what not. I can post the error report if any of the more advanced users can make use of it. Also if you know of anyone who has experience with this please refer them here. I am on Windows 10 64 bit and my system specs are listed below.

"If you own this case, you must join this club" - Sir Richard Branson, Founder of Virgin Group, 2011 You are someone who enjoys the finer aspects of life. You have an office of leather bound books, mahogany paneled rooms and you need a case that is as powerful and yet subtle as you are. The NZXT 440 is simply not good enough; nay such a grotesque design could satisfy your unstoppable drive for perfection. You drive a Mercedes, not because you had the money, not because of the quality, but because you can. You want a case that is as spacious as your S Class, as strong as your open gas range, and as precise as your Rolex. The Cooler Master (that name sounds very unrefined, herein refered as CM) Storm Trooper (Herein referred as ST Executive) is a full tower case with the features you have always wanted. A hidden compartment for a spare rolex, or perhaps a few champagne caps. Space for over eight 3.5in HDDs, perfect for your large amounts of corporate data and.. video. Supporting the most expensive motherboard you can find, with 9 expansion slots for your three MSI Gold GTX 970s. A subtle, elegant window that highlights your components the way the frame does to the Mona Lisa. A fan controller that makes audible noises similar to the Vienna Philharmonic playing. Smooth, soft touch, and highly elegant finish. A case this perfect demands a club as perfect. As President of the Royal CM ST Executive Owners' Club, I am proud to say we are currently accepting applications to this prestigious organization. But you say from a passing SL65 AMG, only momentarily lowering your cigar and brandy, why would I need to be a part of this club? Frankly, it is incredibly simple why you would want to be a member. You have to be. Where else can you connect with other refined, educated and cultured individuals such as yourself? Anyone can buy a Define R4 and put their components inside and call it a day. Only a select few are forward thinking enough to invest in a case of this magnitude. Also, being in this club has perks. In business, you need to network. What better way than to network with other professionals who own ST Executives? So, what then are you waiting for? Due to the fact many individuals in this exclusive club wish to remain anonymous, no details need to be provided except photographic evidence that you indeed own a CM ST Executive. Simply grab your most expensive camera, brandy in the other hand and take a photograph of the build, prominently featuring the case and post it to this web page. A CM ST Executive Club specialist will verify the photo is authentic, and allow your name to be posted on this very page. A true honor, no doubt. If you know which version you have, you may post that as well to make model identification clearer. 1. CM Storm Trooper (Executive) Black, Windowed (Second Generation) The most recent variant of the Case, the Windowed executive is akin to the new Mercedes E Series with a large, spacious and grandoise window for displaying all interior components. CM Storm Trooper (Executive) White, Windowed (Second Generation) Sporty, agile, refined, flirtatious I dare say. A fun, powerful take on the great design comparable to the BMW M3 E90. 3. CM Storm Trooper (Executive) Black, Stealth Grille (First Generation) The first generation is a true classic. So understated, high performance yet little known. An equivalent to the E 63 AMG Wagon. as96 - http://i.imgur.com/yDmVXbk.jpg?1 Do you have a not mentioned, limited run special edition of the case? Have you completed extensive modifications to attain the maximum performance? If so, you could be eligible to be on this special list of Esteemed Members of the club. **This part is all lies, and not meant to be taken seriously Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second is the Colonel in Chief of the exclusive Club. As the logo states, this club was founded 1875 when Sir Harry Williams Brown began to have a club for the best horse carriage wood work. The club was renamed in the Second World War when British Soldiers of the Grenadier and Coldsteam Guards fought "Stormtroopers" and began to collect various Nazi German military decoration and equipment. Since then the club has taken new roles, such as brandy testing, cigar recommendations and pipe evaluations. As such, the club carries Her Majesty's Royal Cipher "EIIR". We are very gracious to have Her Majesty as Colonel in Chief of the club, and pledge her our loyal servitude time immemorial. God save the queen!

Hello everyone! Here’s my quick review of the CM Storm Devastator. The bundle is comparatively cheap at around 30-40 dollars. I picked mine up at NCIX for $35.99 before tax. Before I start, here’s where I’m coming from; · I have only every used a OEM mouse (Lenovo to be precise) · My previous keyboard was a Gigabyte K8100 · I’m a casual gamer (couple of hours a week, run of the mill stuff; GTA V, Shadow of Mordor etc.) · I have used mechanical keyboards in the past Pros: 1. Backlighting on the Keyboard. The backlight on the keyboard is awesome (I got the red version), it seems to light up the entire membrane, making the keys clearly visible. It reminds me of the Razer Blackwidow Chrome that my roommate had. It is way better than the pathetic light, struggling to illuminate half a key, on my old K8100. 2. Raised keys. The keys are well raised off the keyboard face. It looks almost as if there are mechanical switches underneath. This makes typing easier, at least for me, as you can clearly feel when one key ends. 3. Typing feels nicer than a normal membrane. I don’t know if I’m a placebo case (I did read the “custom membrane design” advertising on the CM site before buying) but the keys do have a *slight* tactile feel to them, though I do sometimes think that the extra height may have something to do with it. 4. Keys and mouse have a nice matte coating. 5. Mouse has weight (or mass rather). My biggest fear when buying this combo was that the mouse would be a lightweight piece of junk that I would have to throw out. Surprisingly, it’s not. It has weight for sure, and feels and glides very nicely. It’s not as comfortable when compared to something like the M45, which I held in store and felt my hand mold around, but it gets the job done. 6. Quality. Both the keyboard and the mouse have a quality feel that I was, frankly, surprised to find at this price point. Cons: 1. The cord from the keyboard and mouse looks (and feels) flimsy. 2. The keyboard backlight is tied to the Scroll Function Not the key. The function. This means that I can open the On-Screen keyboard and play with my backlight, I can’t have Scroll Lock on and the backlight off. I wish they had put a separate switch. Don’t bother trying to switch the mouse backlight off because you can’t. 3. The multimedia keys feel flimsy. The keys are located on the top edge, so they are 1/3rds off the keyboard. They feel like they might rub off. 4. The keys are very hard to see without the backlight on. I guess this makes sense since the mouse backlight never switches off, so it would look odd to have a brightly lit mouse and a dark keyboard, but then why would you tie up the Scroll Lock function? 5. The DPI button. I am grateful the mouse has a DPI button but I wish they hadn’t put it directly under the scroll wheel. In conclusion, this bundle is well worth your money. It’s not professional grade by any stretch of the imagination but it’s well built, practical, pretty well thought out and looks awesome.

I'm looking at getting either the CM Storm Trigger or Quickfire TK, and the trigger looks very appealing. The Trigger is cheaper and seems to have more features as well, but I was wondering how limited 6 key rollover is? The main thing I see the Trigger lacking against the TK is that the Trigger has 6-key rollover over usb, but the TK has 'n' key over P/S2. Otherwise the Trigger is about 15-20$ cheaper and has all 104 keys and 5 macro keys (don't think I will need macros but it might be nice for LoL which I play sometimes.) I do like the TK's form factor but either is fine.

Hi, I am choosing a mechanical keyboard, have to decide in the next few weeks (until my birthday). My options are the SteelSeries 6Gv2 and the CoolerMaster Storm Quickfire Rapid, both with Cherry MX Black. The use - gaming, programing, project development and general writing. Which of them would you choose if you were in my place? Tnak you.

Hey guys, As the title suggests, I'm looking to watercool my build soon. Starting with the case. I currently have a CM Storm enforcer and there's no space in the roof for a rad and fans. If you could suggest an ATX case that could fit at least 2x 240mm rads, but still have space for an arse load of hard drives (game recording footage) that would be awesome. *edit* Doesn't actually NEED to be ATX, I'd just prefer it not to be 900D size :P Thanks :)

My keyboard (CM Storm Quickfire TK) has cherry mx blue keyswitches. Since last week i have noticed 2 keys have gone soft. No traditional clickey sound you would expect from blues. They still engage but, no sound. Is there a way to replace the switches? I have had it since october 2012 so i guess it was worth the 80 bucks if it's unfixable. Product link
