Browser, version and OS: Google Chrome, 21H2 Windows 10 PRO Steps to reproduce/what were you doing before it happened? scrollip/down on any website What happened? the text is showing trails whenever i scroll up and down What did you expect to happen? I expect to know if it is a common problem or I have any problem with the hardware itself Link to a page where it happened, if applicable: n/a Screenshots of the issue, if applicable: n/a Any other relevant details: I have only been using the monitor for like a couple of weeks. If it's a cloudflare error, what was the ray ID from the bottom of the error page?

TLDR: I want/need a new gaming rig, gifted my old one to brother. Have the peripherals, but no components yet. Plan to stream 1080p60fps, price at $1200 USD. I play Escape From Tarkov and Ghost Recon: Breakpoint mostly. The Full Version: I sold my old gaming rig (Ryzen 1700, GTX 1060, 16GB DDR4) to my brother and went on a quest to find a suitable cloud based service to replace my physical box. That was six months ago and I regret getting rid of my pc. Rather than buying it back, I figured I could make a new one, with more recent and better components tailored to what I'm trying to do. Stream, game at 1080p 60fps with details cranked, and maybe edit my Nvidia Highlights in Premeire (if Nvidia ends up being my GPU lol). So, with a slightly flexible budget of $1200 USD (no OS, monitor, or peripherals needed) to get the entire PC, what would get me the best performance for my money? Prefer AMD but not married to the idea

For those who have used Shadow PC, how is it? Would you recommend it? I was looking to build a new desktop this summer but with the UK Shadow PC streaming starting in July (hopefully) I was hoping it might be a better alternative considering I might (emphasis on the might) be going to uni in september. I have a reasonably powerful laptop for my everyday work but wanted something to game. I mainly want to enjoy Star Citizen (already got it, runs at 25fps on my laptop). Was considering the basic package plus a 256GB expansion. That should set me back about £300 for a year's worth vs a PC that would be at least £1000. I have streamed some games on Geforce NOW and it runs pretty well. My internet is sold as 100mbps but I'm using it over wifi on the second floor of the house so I get an average of 70mbps down, 20mbps up, and a 5ms latency time.

This is my First post on LTT forum (been lurking for years), and if in the wrong place I apologise. I've been watching LTT for years and Wan Show, Linus telling us about his loss of a furry Family member really hit home (I have pooch and losing him would really be devastating). After all the hard work Linus & LMG Family put into showing us amazing tech and also entertain us. I hope you will all join me in Paying respect to one of Linus family members who are no longer with us. Hopefully this will help Linus and the LMG Family through a difficult time, losing such cutie furry one. RIP little Furry one. FjR. (If in the wrong place mod's please feel free to move)

First off I understand there are many solutions to improve my internet speed but this is a specific case solution I'm after. I live in shared accommodation as the title suggests and my internet is included in the rent but my problem is that every time a tenant enters the building there is a noticeable drop in my broadband speed via WiFi. I am using a windows 10 tablet/netbook (ThinkPad 10) and was wondering if I could use my old smartphone (Samsung Galaxy Note 3) to create a separate WiFi connection and tether it via USB to my tablet/netbook and then combine the 2 connections with software (?) into a single connection that will prioritize more speed to my device than everyone else. My reasoning: I recently had my gaming PC stolen and have resorted to using my tablet/netbook with a Cloud solution Shadow. (Linus Tech Tips review here.) I can play the latest titles but it's not a good feeling when you're playing an online game and someone walks into the building creating a 1 minute lag spike and I'm just sitting there with the expression of dread on my face like getting the blue screen of death knowing my cloud PC is still active and my avatar is currently at the mercy of game physics until I reconnect. I'm in the UK where average broadband speed is ranked below 30th in the world and the best my broadband has been is 50mbps Down and 5mbps Up. The cloud solution isn't very pretty on my end but it is better than nothing. Shadow was located in the Logitech booth for E3 2019

I subscribed to Shadow because Linus suggested it. But, I have been having a lot of issues with either the service or my machine. I have logged in maybe 25 times and had issues 7-8,times. This results in days of me not being able to use it. I havent been able to use it all month because it kept showing an error message and now it is requiring an admin password. Has anyone else started using shadow? Have y'all had a good experience? Is this just my VM? Has anyone else had troubles.?

I'm new to pc's and pc gaming in general and just recently put together a system. I also just upgraded my gpu from a Gigabyte Radeon 590 to a Gigabyte Aorus 2070 Super. I then started playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider. After playing for a good while I left it on the pause screen for a moment and when I came back the game had shut down and pc restarted. Ever since I've tried to launch the game low or high settings it launches Steam and the start menu for the game then when I click to launch the game my internet disconnects and my cursor freezes and the rest of the system freezes. The only way I am able to get back going again is to press the reset button on my tower. Battlefield V on the other hand loads Origin and then the system just simply crashes. I am able to play games like Modern Warfare, Borderlands 3, Fortnite and just about any other game I so choose with no problems. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Being a new pc user and having paid for these games I would really like to get this resolved.

I got Shadow and I saw that there is a 10 day waiting period for your system activation. I then got an email saying that they were building my system but it seems like that shouldn't take more than a few hours. Can anyone explain how this system kind of works? Why is the wait time so long?

Dear community, I posted it here since it is mostly server related in my opinion (correct me if I am wrong). I have a very lightweight laptop for university purposes and a nice well working desktop which can basically run anything. After seeing the Shadow video on LTT, I figured it had to be possible to set up something like this for myself. So that, when I am not at home I can host games from my pc and play on my laptop. However, I dont know any open source software that could do this, or what the requirements would be, since I have never attempted this before (I do, however, have quite some knowledge - not an expert - on servers, linux, webservers, webproxies, etc). I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to approach this. Would be cool if we can together turn this into a how-to guide for other people who would like to do the same. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Findings thus far: - UltraVNC seems to get close to the job (no testing done yet, just research) - https://github.com/phoboslab/jsmpeg-vnc This guy seems to have pulled it off, however, without sound, streaming mpegs Thanks in advance!

Hi All, Ive been wanting a gaming PC for a long time but since I’m a college student living on my own, I don’t have a ton of money and I already have a PC. I have Microsoft Surface 2018, (Pro 5) core i7. Since I am in an area where Shadow has service (Ohio) i figured I would give it a try. Unfortunalty, Shadow does not appear to work on my machine and I get Error 300 anytime I try to connect. I have opened a ticket with Shadow but they insist I update my graphics driver through intel but my driver is up to date. So I was wondering, does anyone else have Shadow and what machine are you using to run it?

Budget (including currency): up to 800 Canadian rupees Country: Canada Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: cloud gaming (Shadow/stadia/GeForce now etc) Other details got a 1440p monitor capable of 144hz. Nothing matters as long as it would be able to output that refresh rate. The horse power is left for the cloud computing in the cloud. Guys I tried multiple mini boxed PCs and Intel sticks but most of them capped at 60hz and latest one I got Gigabyte Ultra Compact Mini PC/Intel UHD Graphics 600 ended up giving me 75 hz. Dimensions of the mini pc matters to me as my monitor and pc gonna be in the living room (it'll be up on a table) Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

I've been having this weird issue in game where as I move my camera (even with it not moving sometimes) the reflections on cars and shiny floors will become pixelated and move on their own. I also have a problem with a weird box around my player model about 5 feet away and shadows will pop in and out of existence depending on camera angle. I've tried re-installing, running on each version of direct x and changing every available graphics setting but it still persists. I've linked the video clip and my current settings. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EDGoMKcvpg7SpyrdPkufeg-CKwLjYFRy/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DpdC4o5--WawE5ha6t4M5bSYSOjlkWSk/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/1E0M2pl1PqAnX4zzFRJJtCEdCuxq9mUqR/view?usp=drivesdk https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EB9HTnTF6vCJHz_rDj7JMnLv91j8veqt/view?usp=drivesdk My pc specs: Ryzen 5 2600x Rx 580 8gb saphire pulse Asus prime b450m-a 16gb ddr4 dominator platinum 2666mhz Cit 500w psu 80 plus bronze

Today I watched an interesting video on the new 'Shadow' technology. For £30 quid a month you can rent a 8 core 12gb ram 1080 virtiual pc and connect to it using a dumb client with next to no lag (supposedly) I think you guys should check it out, the concept has been around for some time with Citrix or other virtualisation software however they are specifically targeting the gaming market and promoting no lag... is this the death of the pc? https://shadow.tech/int
-
Hi guys, I just wanna ask for your opinions on a quite interesting gaming concept that caught my attention recently. You might already know, it's a cloud gaming service, or to put in simply, a Netflix for gaming. It basically allows user to play modern games at high setting on a crappy PC, laptop, or TV (Geforce Now from Nvidia or Shadow Blade in France for example). From my point of view, this isn't a bad idea at all. Take Shadow Blade for example (https://shadow.tech/int), it allows users to play games on a PC with specs equivalent of a Xeon CPU 8 threads, 12 GBs of DDR4 Ram, 256 GBs SSD and GTX 1080. In terms of value, a PC with that specs along with proper peripherals will be about $2000. If you buy a 12-month package, you will pay around $420/ year, which is $2100 in 5 years, similar to an usual PC life cycle before being slow and outdated. However, they offer hardware upgrade for every major releases, which means that your virtual computer will never get outdated. Let's say you upgrade your GPU and CPU every 3-4 years, storage and ram every 5 years, it will probably cost you another $1000. Also, it allows you to use it on any devices, Windows, MacOS, Android, IOS, basically anything with a motherfking screen. For now, instead of building a high-end PC to game and a crappy laptop to carry around, you can buy an expensive laptop (even a Macbook) and literally game on it. Sounds like a dream, I know, so here are the disadvantages. First off, the internet connection. According to its founder, a 15 mbps would be ideal to avoid any latency, but, a 10mbps would be sufficient I think, since he said that 15 was just in case someone watches porn in the other room. This means that if you have a shitty internet connection, you are pretty much obligated to buy a PC. I personally don't have this issues, I can still get 45-50 mbps both down and up using wifi even from an extender. If you use ethernet cable directly from the router, I doubt that you will ever have this issue. The second disadvantage is privacy, (which only occurs if you use Shadow Blade, not Geforce Now) where hackers can hack into your windows desktop and steal your information. I don't think this is likely to be serious, since you buy it to game, other applications that might affect your money will probably happen outside of the service. So here comes the question. Is it worth it? So far with all these analyses that I wrote down, it kinda is. Cheaper, more convenient, a bit limited by the internet speed which will likely be solved in the near future with fiber connection or ethernet.

Hi guys. I have a question about a part that i can't resolve. Right now i have a dedicated root server with 10GBps uplink, and yes i really get 10GBps download speed and upload I'm using Shadow for cloud gaming, but the downside is that i've only got 256GB of space to play games on.. I want to extend my storage with the usage of SMB on the dedi root server. Everything is set correctly and its working.. but here comes the downside. The download speed and upload with SMB is super slow... around the 10MBps, while 100MBps was possible with microsoft azure. Do i need to do some extra steps to get it working like the way i want it? If someone can help me, i will really appricate it. Thanks - Flux

NCIX: http://bit.ly/1Ci2EUe Amazon: http://geni.us/rX7 The first time Linus saw the MSI GS30 Shadow, he knew this was a product designed for him... But did it live up to his expectations?
-
What's your guys thoughts on the new MSI GS30 announced at CES? Personally I want one.
-
Hello Guys and Linus if you get down to reading this, would be extremely helpful, I am writing about the MSI GS30 Shadow the laptop with the separate GPU dock.I am moving to university soon so I am in a need of both a normal Desktop PC and a Good Laptop, as I spend most of my time Gaming, but I am on a budget. So I was just wondering if you could answer this to me as you've actually had it for a while. Is it possible to use the laptops screen itself with the GPU inside the Dock or you only can use the Dock if you have a Monitor separately ? P.S - I love your content, Looking forward to the next Scrap Yard War episode too !!!

I've been playing SoM for a while now, about 10 hours, and I've got to say a few things. First off, a lot of reviewers compare it to the Arkham games which is fair enough. But imo the Arkham games are a lot better. They have better story, better pacing, more variety and better combat. "What do you mean by better combat?" you could ask. It's the little things. I play SoM with the prompts disabled, the same as I play the Batman games. I like it because it makes the game harder and it demands more focus and skill. But in Batman you can see the enemies much clearer. Their actions are a lot more well defined. In SoM you barely have time to react to some attacks, such as the shielded orcs' attacks, the caragor's pounce or the berserkers's attacks. Not to mention it's impossible to tell when a crossbow wielding orc or a spear throwing one will attack. But this would be the smaller problem. The bigger problem is the targeting. In Batman it has a sort of intelligent targeting. Which means if I press the analogue stick towards a group of enemies that have an armored guy(=shield orc), a regular guy and a machine gunner the game will automatically realize that I'll probably want to hit the machine gunner because he is the biggest threat to me, and also if I hit the armored guy I'll loose my combo. Similarly if I have a combat takedown(=combat execution) and I press the analogue stick towards that same group of enemies it will probably kill the armored guy because he can't be hit with regular hits. This makes the game very easy to control because the game does what I want it to do, it sort of figures out what I want. In SoM it's a clusterfuck. All the enemies group up on you, it will constantly hit guys that you don't want Talion to hit, it'll execute guys that are on the ground instead of full health enemies or high threat ones like berserkers, it'll execute orcs with intel when I'm clearly pressing the stick in the OPPOSITE direction... I just feel like I'm not in control. It's one thing that it can't predict which orc I want to hit when I press the stick towards 2, 3 or more enemies, but the game will often go the opposite way, it just does whatever it wants to do. Oh, and I almost forgot that time when I tried to jump on a rope that was spanning a good length to escape a horde of orcs beneath me, but my character would't get on it, instead he jumped off in the middle of the orcs and they killed me. And that was just the combat part of my rant. The whole game is about killing orcs. It's very slow, very bland, the story has that same high fantasy LotR style (which I find utterly boring). Somehow the brutality doesn't help, it still feels like a fucking fairy tale for kids. Batman has no killing and it manages to feel a lot more mature. SoM has no good characters, they are all just boring archetypes, there's little to no variety in scenery and gameplay... Batman had puzzles, AR gliding training, mini bosses with flashed out stories, lots of gadgets to spice up the game and a fucking awesome soundtrack and sound design. When I watched Gamespot's video review in the comments I saw that people were hating on Kevin for giving it an 8.0 (Great). Someone actually said it was more of a 9!!! Well I'd give SoM a 7.8. Exactly that number. I don't know why. Don't get me wrong, it is fun, I've played plenty of worse games that I really enjoyed and I do not regret buying SoM. It's still the best Middle Earth based game, but it's not as good as everyone is saying it is. It has some interesting mechanics in terms of the nemesis system, the stealth can be pretty fun because of it's fluidity and fast pace and planning your moves in the orc politics can be pretty engaging. But it just makes me wish I was playing Arkham City instead.
