My PC was working 3 days ago, and then I packed it up since I was moving houses. Now after I try turning it on, it won't show any signs of electrical activity whatsoever. My fans don't turn on and nothing lights up. The power supply and motherboard are getting power because if I attach any of my peripherals, they light up. However, the PC won't turn on at all. I had just kept it in my car while moving. Any ideas what could be wrong?

Hey guys So yesterday I built my new PC Specs: Ryzen 9 3900x ROG Strix X570-E Gaming Radeon RX 5700 XT 16 GB Corsair Vengance LPX DDR 4 Ram Samsung 2TB SSD Corsair 750 Watt Power supply Only CPU, motherboard and SSD are new, everything else comes from diffrent rig. First time booting seemed to work, but took an usual amount of time (~10 mins plus) so I thought something must be wrong. Took everything apart again, switched RAM and graphis card to test and now the PC would start up, but wouldn't boot at all, with any combination of grapics card and ram. CPU fan wasn't spinning either, allthough other fans did and so I thought CPU must be the problem and took a look at it. A tiny bit of thermal paste seems to have gone into the socket, so I took the CPU out and cleaned it off. Only dry with a toothpick tho, because I didn't have any isopropyl alcohol on me (have ordered some now.) So now tried to restart again and it won't even turn on. Nothing. RGB on the motherboard is working so seems to have power, but nothing else. I'm going to try again after the alcohol arrives, but I'm concerned cause it seems to be getting worse. Does anyone know what might have happend and what I can do? Thanks

So basically what the computer does when i try to start it with the pcie connector plugged in is that the power light turns on but nothing happens, no fans spinning anywhere, hard drive not starting. Only power led comes on. When the 6 pin pcie connector isnt plugged in the computer starts as normal and demands me to connect the pcie connector. I'm suspecting a short, but how would i fix this and at what point might the short be happening? I have tried the gpu in question with multiple psu:s and motherboards. system specs (if it matters): ASUS GTX 660 2GB (the smallest one) fujitsu lga775 motherboard q9400 stock clocks and voltages 500gb hdd 8 gigs of samsung ddr3 1333mhz 300 watt liteon psu also tested with: asrock p67 extreme6 board and an xfx550 watt psu acer h61 board and 650 watt psu asus z170 pro gaming and corsair rmx750w psu (same results with everything)

My system's going bonkers! I've always had the issue of bumping or hitting my desk freezing my pc, and so it did the other day, though its never been a "problem". The day after I try to boot it and it gives me a short bleep and turns off. Fans are spinning, power supply is on and the motherboard lights up. Then there are the debugging LEDs... In order: CPU, DRAM, VGA and BOOT. On start it takes about half a second before it repeats this sequence, red lights: CPU On - CPU Off - DRAM On - DRAM Off - CPU On - CPU Off and then it dies. This whole process loops with about 5 seconds in between infinetly. What on earth is it trying to tell me? I tried unmiunting and mounting the ram (2 corsair 16GB) on slots 2 & 4, like it was before I took them out. I've checked if the power button is faulty, it's not. I've checked if the optical drive was misleading anything, unplugged and doesn't affect anything. I've checked all visible loose cables, secured. This is my first actual desktop and I didn't even build it myself, a friend did. Help? I have cookies Specs : Mb: Msi z270 gaming m3 Gpu: Msi geforce gtx 1060 Cpu: Intel i5 (7something) Ram: 2x Corsair DDR4 16GB Power: cooler master 600W Coolermaster cooler Seagate HDD Samsung SSD (OS on it) First post, don't kill me

I just finally built my new computer, but I have run into some problems. Whenever I power my computer on, everything starts except my GPU. Since my monitor goes through the GPU, I can't see anything in my BIOS. I know this GPU does work because it was in the old computer and is just temporary until I get a 1080. I also tried using a GTX 650ti from an old setup and it wasnt working either. Any thoughts? My rig: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/73yM6X

Hello guys,I've just put up together my first PC ever.I've googled for hours now but can't get my problem solved. So here's the situation:The system is powering up normally, all ssds/hdd were detected, all case and cpu fans are running. I'm actuall writing this using the new RIG, however with onboard graphics. The GPU won't start at all. Fans are not spinning and there's no lights either. As this is my first build, I'm thinking (and hoping) I only made a silly mistake and forgot to connect something, but to be honest I'm starting to think the card is dead. All pieces are (supposed to be) brand new, all ordered from Amazon including the GPU.Here's the set up:i7 7700kAsus Z270E32GB HyperX 2133mhzSSD Samsung 960 Evo 500gb (system)SSD Samsung 850 Evo 1TBHDD WD 3TBPower supply be quiet pure power 9 700wGainward GTX 1080 GLHI've tried removing and installing the GPU about three times already. Also checking on the BIOS, the GPU is not being detected.Any insight would be appreciated.

Windows 10 64-bit i5-6500 (Upgrading to 7700k) Gigabyte GA-Z170XP-SLI G.Skill Ripjaws 2x8GB WD Blue 1TB HDD BIOS is before Kaby Lake support Post code: 1 short beep, followed by another 5 short beeps Alright, I finally got my i7-7700k, and I was going to install it. So I pluck it in, and it wont POST. Then I remembered I needed to update my BIOS, so I pluck in my i5-6500 to Q-Flash, but before I get the chance, my friends, POST codes come up. The codes are 1 short beep, followed by another 5 short beeps. At this point I ripped everything out of the case, and I don't know what to do.

Hello the last month or so my phone keept rebooting randomly not often but somtimes. About an hour ago this happened again but it hasn't stopped rebooting since it's stuck in a bootloop. The phone tries to turn on but fails and keeps starting over again. It ran out of battery and I was happy because it stopped. I plugged its power cable back in but it just started with that bootloop again. My phone is a Sony Xperia M4 Aqua and today is the last day I have warranty on this thing. I bought it on Amazon, should I send it back to them or to Sony directly if this is the only option. Need help fast thank you in advanced.

Hello everyone, in April I bought a MacBook Pro 2015 on ebay, and it worked fine, until... I have an hackintosh at home, and I used on it a normal usb key, on which I loaded Ubuntu live (just extracting the ISO on it) and inserted in the MBP to start Ubuntu. What greeted me was Clover (the hackintosh's bootloader), which started MacOS and hung for a while on it. Then I turned off the laptop, to reboot it, and I just got a black screen, nothing more. The insides of the computer looked fine (I met a friend who brought the pentalobe screwdriver), though I didn't look too closely at it. The computer does charge. I tried connecting a tv via the HDMI, resetting the SMC (the orange light turned green), resetting the PRAM, logging in, sleeping it and waking it up, safe mode, recovery mode, cmd+f1, booting ubuntu from the usb key, but none of these worked. Since going to a repair shop is gonna drain me some hundred bucks, I decided to give the DIY solutions a try... Though I don't know where to start. I guess checking the voltages on the motherboard is also a good thing to do, but even though I watched some videos from Louis Rossmann I'm still a bit uncertain... Any help would be hugely appreciated, even if you know some other site that could help me or where I could ask for help... Thank you for your help, Marco

Ok so i have only had this motherboard for a few weeks. I had it working fine. But two days ago it would not turn on. I made sure my button on my case was working. And even took the computer completely apart cleaning it as i go (bit of a roach problem) put it back together and nothing. It just flashes the color i set in the bios. Here is the kicker, i removed the battery to reset the bios. Left it out the entire 30 mins that i left my house came back and still will not turn on. I have tried various PSUs and the same thing happens. My brothers are huge computer guys and even they are stumped. I am wondering if i just got a defective board. Or if there is something else wrong. Yes, everything is completely plugged in. Someone please help... Hi everyone, Huge dilemma, I'm currently running a fairly old desktop unit: Asus P5B Motherboard Intel Core Quad Q6600 @2.4GHz AMD Radeon 7800 4GB DDR2 Corsair RM650x : Having had this PC for over a decade, I only had to replace the GPU twice and also added in an SSD. About 6 months ago, I started to have problems turning the unit on, having to press the power button multiple times before it'd actually start. This persisted up to the point when the unit wouldn't start at all anymore, so I replaced the old PSU with the Corsair one. Once replaced, my old desktop revived and I was able to power it up every time with no problems. Soon, the PSU started to became extremely noisy (although advertised as dead silent ) - my bad, couldn't be bothered to dig up the receipt and return the PSU - but more recently it started to suffer of the very same symptoms as the old PSU: it now takes at least 2-3 presses of the power button to power up and I'm worried I might again end up with another dead PSU. My question is, has anyone heard of, say, a faulty motherboard affecting and eventually killing a PSU? I don't believe in this sort of perfect coincidences so I'm thinking there is something else affecting my new PSU. If anyone has any ideas (please, spare the power button being at fault, since after replacing the PSU worked just fine) about what other things could cause this, it would be very much appreciated to have them shared in here. Many thanks

Hi, Below are the specs of my desktop: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 MSI B450M PRO-VDH PLUS Corsair Vengeance 16gb ddr4 Galax Geforce RTX 2060S 8 GB DDR6 Corsair TX650M PSU Samsung Evo 850 480GB WD Blue 2TB 1. As per today afternoon, my PC was running fine with no issues at all. I was playing games with no issue. Then i decided to uninstall my Kaspersky antivirus as i was having trouble with some banking websites. After uninstalling, the process asked me to restart the windows. 2. During restart, PC showed no display, chassis fans were spinning, and chassis HDD LED was not glowing. I decided to force restart the PC as it was not showing any progress. I waited almost 10 mins. I forced pc to restart by pressing reset switch but nothing happened. same state. Then i pressed power switch for 10 secs. nothing happened. Then I powered off the pc using PSU back switch. But after i pressed chassis power switch, pc did not start at all. no lights, no fans, no chassis led, no display, nothing. 3. then i removed GPU and tried to start the PC. No luck. Then removed RAM modules one by one and tried to start the PC. again no luck. 4. Then i removed all the power connectors of fans and HDDs from PSU. kept only 8-pin CPU and 24-pin connectors. But again same issue. Tested PSU with paper pin test by shorting Pin 3-4 with paper clip. It was working. PSU fan was spinning. 5. Then i removed CMOS battery for 2 mins then reinserted it. Then pressed power switch button for 10 secs with out PSU connected. No luck again. Shorted CMOS jumper but no luck. Done this with reset switch removed as well. but no luck again. 6. Then I removed power switch connector from motherboard and then shorted power pins to bypass power switch. But no luck. Checked voltage on power pins. it was 3.4 volts. 7. I don't have any spare motherboard or CPU to test. so i am not able to confirm if it is motherboard or CPU. But in case it is CPU then motherboard should at-least try to post or give EZ debug LED for CPU. but there is no action of any kind. Can anyone suggest me what to do next?? Thanks in advance.

Hello there! So.. The same thing happened about 3-4 days ago. I was trying to turn on my pc after a week of being on vacation (surprisingly my monitor died in this period too, took it to repair it but they told us it's completely dead which is strange because we didn't touch it for a week????).. Anyways. I tried turning on my pc and got a huge red box. SECURE BOOT VIOLATION The system found unauthorized changes in the firmware, operating system or UEFI drivers. Press OK to run the next boot device blablabla... Upon pressing the enter key I get 'Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key' I tried switching the boot orders up in the BIOS and such.. Nothing works. Windows repair doesn't notice any problems. The only way to get through this is reinstalling windows, which gets rid of my passwords, chrome history and such. Also the drivers. And I don't plan on reinstalling everything in every 5th day. Do you guys have any clues what I should do?? Should I just not let windows download the updates because it seems to cause this error.

Today I turned on my computer to have it start loading normally and then go to a screen that says "Reboot and select proper Boot Device or insert book media in selected device and press a key". I looked around and saw that it can be solved by going into my bios and messing with a setting however I cant get into my bios. When my computer first starts up it goes to a screen that says "Gateway" with their logo and then it just goes to this error message. I have tried pressing f1-12 while in both screens, esc, and del but nothing has worked. My computer was working just fine yesterday and I don't know what could have happened to cause this. Any help is greatly appreciated! So it all started just yesterday when I tried to open MSI afterburner, it just wouldn't open. I went to open Google chrome and it just wouldn't open either, so I uninstalled that, internet explorer opened and I tried to download the Google chrome installer, but that didn't install (or even open). Most programs aren't opening, I've restarted many times, and it hasn't fixed it, I've used sfc /scannow and no problems were found. So please help! Would be greatly appreciated. Edit: also when I open the start menu (windows 10) and start typing to search about half the time it just sits there loading and not displaying anything and I have to restart to fix it.

This morning, my computer would not start up, I kept getting this message: No boot device available. Strike the F1 key to retry boot, F2 to run the Setup utility. SATA 1: Installed SATA 2: Installed SATA 3: None SATA 4: None SATA 5: None MSATA 1: Installed. After around 3-4 restarts the computer starts into a DELL screen (My PC is a pre-built Dell), after about 20 seconds it flashes a screen with a windows 10 sad face saying something like your computer ran into a problem (The screen flashes for such a short time I cannot read the rest). After this happening once, the computer then launches with a Dell screen saying preparing automatic repair, the system then boots into Windows Boot Manager. Upon trying to run the "Refresh your PC" it says "The drive where Windows is installed is locked. Unlock the drive and try again" Upon trying to run the "Reset your PC" it says "Unable to reset your PC. A required drive partition is missing" Any help would be much appreciated. My top priority is keeping my data on my hard drive so try to recommend options that would preserve this.

Hey guys Well i don't know were to start I have been having this issue for quite a while. Some days I would come home from school, and power the PC and it will flash the LED's and the fans will spin for a split second and will shut off. Now this started wen the first outlet which was the closest one went out on me so i had to switch to another outlet which was to far from the PC so then i needed to use an extension with six outlets in a row sorry i have no idea what they call those so after i start using the extension these problems started. And kept being a problem also it was progressing as will be more and more often that this issue will occur and the only way i was able to get it back on was wait a couple of hours and try again. So i was wondering could it be the extension could it be the the wall outlet the the PSU.
