I was moving my entire desk with my computer and monitor over it and suddenly the screen and peripherals turned off. Fans kept spinning. I have seen this kind of behavior before, it indicates that the CPU is not working properly or the connection between the mobo and the CPU is having issues. I say this because the CPU light on the mobo is on. My theory is that some cable got disconnected while I was moving the desk. I have taken the entire mobo of the case and connected everything again with no success. Put the CPU out and in. Only one stick of memory. Right now I am waiting a few minutes with the cmos battery out. This is kind of frustrating since it was working perfectly. The CPU is a 5600 on a B450 motherboard. PSU is NZXT C750 gold. Any tips? Update: CMOS battery out for 15 minutes and still nothing. Here is a quick video. 20231219_213546.mp4

Hi all, So I put my gaming PC in storage a few months as I wasn't using it a whole lot due to work being so busy. I decided to get it out of storage a couple of days ago and it's now not posting. Components are: CPU Ryzen 5 5600X AIO: Corsair ICue H100i Mobo: ROG Strix X570E RAM: Vengance 2*16GB 3600 SSD: Samsung 980 Pro 1TB NVME GPU: Gigabyte RTX 3080 PSU HX750i 80+ plat All I've done so far is plug in the power which makes the mobo light up but as soon as I press the power button the lights turn off so maybe it's grounding itself. I did some googling for troubleshooting steps and tried the following: Pulled out the GPU and SSD to make sure they're not tripping anything Tried clearing the CMOS, not sure if this took because I don't have a physical CMOS as far as I can tell it's just a button the back of the mobo Disconnected the PSU and tried a known good one of the same model (pulled it from my NAS) Things I can't try at the moment: CPU repaste, I have the paste but no isopropyl alcohol until this weekend but my Amazon order of it arrives for the NAS I'm not sure if something is shorting somehow because power does seem to be being delivered, it just dies when the power button is pressed. Or maybe the liquid in the cooler is no longer liquid and needs heat to start flowing but I'd have thought it'd at least POST under that circumstance. Or maybe the cooler leaked liquid and friend something, I saw a Toms Hardware post where that happened to someone. Does anyone have any idea's or suggestions for next steps?

Hello everyone! I hope your all doing well. I am a complete novice with PC's. After getting back my motherboard from MSI after a RMA claim and getting a new processor, my pc after putting it back together still wasn't posting and I couldn't access the Bios. LED debug now lights up on VGA before it lit up at CPU. My graphics card is brand new, I only bought it a couple months ago. In a youtube comment someone suggested to switching out sata cables and to unplug all storage components including the Nvme. Come to find out my boot drive is causing the VGA debug to light up and not post. I can't even access bios. After unplugging it I can now access my bios and I'm also able to access it after installing my Nvme drive back in. What should I do? I'm guessing I need a new boot drive, but where or how should I get it. I have an extra 120gb ssd laying around and thinking about making it my temporary boot drive until my i get something with more storage. Any help or advise is much appreciated, Thank you!! My PC build if anyone needs to know Mobo: MSI MPG z590 gaming plus Processor: I9 11th gen Graphics card: MSI 4080 Corsair vegeance LPX 16gb DDR4

My pc was giving me a MBR Error 1 whenever id turn it on. This was going on for months i would just turn it off hit the power switch on my power supply wait 10 mins turn it back on and it booted up fine. Over this past weekend though this didnt work anymore so I tried resetting my bios but my keyboard wasnt working. So I tried resetting the bios by taking out the cmos battery but when I tried getting my system to post afterwards it didnt turn on at all. Nothing on the screen, no lights no fans spinning, nothing. I didnt have any idle lights on my motherboard so I thought it was my power supply. I put my old power supply that I know works in but that didnt fix the issue. In doing this i made sure all wires were connected. Im not quite sure what could be wrong or how to fix it. If anyone has any ideas id love to hear them!

I was looking at my pc and noticed the old defect drive was still attached, so I pulled it out (stupid I see now....) Pc was working fine, but when i pulled the cable everything went black, pc kept "running" Now when I restart it the leds on the motherboard go on, fans get power and seen to regulate, but there is no display output on either gpu or motherboard, usb keyboard doesn't power on... What should I do?! -1 minute later I was watching Netflix and downloading (not installing) the new gpu drivers. Windows 10, 3 screens, using 2 (turned on all 3 now, both with motherboard display ports and gpu (1060 3gb) Pc: Ryzen 3 1200 Asus b350 plus motherboard Gigabyte 1060 3gb

Okay so I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right topic/forum (I'm new to this). THIS WILL BE LONG BUT PLEASE READ AND HELP ME. I'M BEGGING!! Specs: Mobo - Asus B550-F Gaming (Non Wifi) CPU - Ryzen 7 3700x GPU - Asus ROG STRIX RTX 3060 RAM - Trident Z Neo 3600mhz cl-18 (2x16gb) SSD- 1 tb Samsung Evo 970 PSU - EVGA 750watt 80 plus gold So I'll just give a run down of what has happened since I built my PC in July of this year. I'm a first time builder and needless to say the built came out good with no issue. The only issue I found was the LAN port of the MOBO (intel i225V) I bought a cheap PCIE LAN card and it worked perfectly . I overclocked my CPU (Ryzen Master Precision Boost) and my GPU ( MSI Afterburner where I maxed the power limit and fan speeds. I applied a little lower than the settings that Jayztwocents used on an EVGA 3060 in his YT Vids. I ran benchmarks and no issue, no crash. I ran Warzone, Apex, Fortnite, Splitgate, Rocket League, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro without an issue. Not a single crash. A month into the build (August) Any game that used Unreal Engine 4 just wouldn't work. No Splitgate, Fortnite or any game that used unreal engine 4. I got hyped for bloodhunt which was using unreal engine, so I reset my PC, the windows reset I mean, I saved my personal files and booted with no issue. Another month passed (September) and Bloodhunt released (Horribly optimized) and I played the game for around 3 weeks. Suddenly my pc began to slow down. my photoshop and premiere pro were sluggish and booting into the game was meh.I uninstalled bloodhunt and the issue was still there. Suddenly one morning, I pressed my power button, the pc would start and 5 seconds later it would shutdown not even finishing to post. This happened for 5 times and I unplugged and plugged the cord in, switched the psu power button on and half and then tried again and it turned on and ran alll day long and all night. No issue what so ever until I turned it off and came back on the following day and the same issue happened. The PC would choose when it wanted to turn on. It took around 2 seconds from pushing the on button to it being turned off again and it was just a cycle. I decided to keep the pc on at all times and the funny thing is that I could turn it off and put it on right after ( 5mins, 10 mins, and 30 mins later) with no issue. The issue came when I left it off for more than 4 or 5 hours. I finally decided to reset my PC again and download all my softwares. It worked for a day or two and then the cyle of me pushing the power button every 5 seconds started again. It came to a point where it just wouldn't turn on SO I opened my PC and decided to take out my ram and put it back in. I then proceeded to turn on my pc and it kept it's power BUT there was no post whatsoever. No QLEDs like a usual post process and the rgb from my ram was off (They always turn on). Now my pc turns on but does not post or even starts the post process. I took out the 2 ram sticks and tried one ram stick at a time. still no post and rgb is off. I proceeded to remove my aio and took out my CPU. checked for bent pins and found non. I applied new thermal paste and put it all back together ( I did not tighten the AIO alot because I heard it can cause issues with the ram). AND to no avail, there was no post still or any post process. I reseated my GPU and got the same results. I removed all the wires and opened the back of my o11 dynamic and proceeded to take out every thing and properlyconnect and arranged the cables so the wires wouldn't touch the MOBO because I read that it can be shorting it if they touch. I removed my extension cables and used the default EVGA cables. AND to no avail, the same results. I decided to remove the CMOS battery and reset it using the screwdriver on the pins. I put everything back together included the battery and the PC turned on but the RAM rgb was flickering and no post. I left it there took a 10 minute shower and came back, the lights for my RAM was on. I force shut down the PC with PSU switch because the front panel button doesn't work in this current state of no post. SO I turned it back on and it took a while but it worked and got back in (QLED stayed on the RAM indicator for a hot minute and then continued the post process like usual). I enabled XMP but I did not OC my CPU and GPU. I played apex all day and went to sleep. the following morning on the cold boot, the same issue again. SO Back to square one, No post or post process, RAM rgb is off. I assumed it was my front panel because the light on the power button is constantly flicker blue to red when i have my pc on (this has been the case since i built the pc but there was never an issue so I didn't mind it). I started turning on the pc by using the screwdriver on the power pins. Still no post. I came to the conclusion that the PC would post only after resetting the CMOS so I did it again and the PC turned on but posting got stuck on the RAM QLED and never moved. I said bet its a RAM issue for sure. I turned off the PC and held the cmos pins with the screwdriver for 10 seconds. turned it on and it posted. I decided not to enable XMP and got into windows. It was late and I had work so I turned off the PC once I knew I could boot (I assumed the ram could not handle xmp again). The following morning (today) I turned it on before work to see it work (IT DID NOT). and now i don't know what to do. IDK if it's the PSU, RAM, MOBO. But I can guarantee I can have it boot if I reset my CMOS. Today after work I will try a clean installation of windows from a USB drive and hope it's Windows that is messing me up because of the 2 resets I've done in the past I WILL TAKE ANY AND ALL ADVICERIGHT NOW. If it's a hardware issue I need to find out what is exactly causing it to replace it.

Hi Guys, I've recently built a new PC for a friend of mine. Specs are at the Bottom. After Installing all of the Drivers and other Software we got to an interesting problem: During Games the PC freezes and becomes unresponsive. So far we've tried ARMA 3 and World of Tanks. As the PC is not responding in any way, we could only turn it off by holding the Power-button. When we try to reboot, the System does not POST. The Screens stay off. The only thing we get is that the Debug LED shows somtimes CPU and sometimes DRAM issues. After several restarts the System finally boots into Windows. The Eventlog only shows a sudden Power off, but I was expecting this as we forced it to shut down. Edit: Turns out the problem was caused by a faulty Mainboard. So far I've tried these steps: -reinstalling GPU drivers -BIOS update -CMOS reset -memTest86 froze during the 1 run so i tried 1 Ram stick at a time and then both together again and got no errors. I've also tried Cinebench r23 for CPU stress testing and during the Test the system runs just fine, but as soon as I press Stop the PC freezes. The same thing happened when stress testing the GPU with FurMark. We do NOT have any thermal Problems on CPU or GPU. Does anybody have any ideas what could cause this problem? PC Specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x8Gb DDR4-3200 C16 GPU: MSI Geforce RTX 3060 Ti Gaming Z Trio LHR MB: MSI MPG B550 Gaming Plus SSD: Crucial MX500 1TB PSU: beQuiet! Recently I've had a fairly common problem where my PC boots but gives no signal on monitor(fans and led's all light up) . I've tried EVERYTHING. From cables, changing monitors, clearing CMOS, testing another PSU(friends) , breadboarding with/without different components, reseating every component, every cable, looked for shorts, sent my MOBO on testing and possibly RMA since it was my main suspect, it worked fine there... So after days of trying everything I contacted a friend to help me troubleshoot further since he's into PC's and was willing to help. Since the mobo is clear, our main suspect is the GPU. So we put his GPU in my PC, still no POST whatsoever, same problem. We also replaced our RAM and SSD, still no POST. After all this we put back all his components back (GPU, RAM, SSD) and he gets the exact same problem. No post, no display, no signal, everything boots fine and lights up. What to do next? Did anyone experience something similar? Could a virus do something like this even tho I don't have any idea where I could've picked it up? Is there any chance of him getting his PC back to normal, at this point I don't even care about mine. My specs: R5 2600x, Sapphire RX580 4gb, Asrock B450M Pro4-F, SeaSonic GM 650, Kingston A2000 M. 2 ssd and barracuda hdd

Specs: Mainboard: Gigabyte Aorus Elite x570 CPU: ryzen 9 3900xt Ram: Crucial Ballistix weiß DIMM Kit 16GB, DDR4-3200, GPU 1070Nvidia PSU: be quiet! STRAIGHT POWER11 CM 1000W My issue is that the Pc wont post. I checked all the cables and everything is spinning and on all Power cables are connected. I also tried putting only one Ram stick in and changing its location but nothing helped. I think that it could be because of the CPU. But it also can be the Mainboard because, the system turns on by the Power switch but it is just not possible to turn the system off with the off switch. I dont know what to do. The Mainboard has a Qflash function so I will try that tomorow but does anyone have other ideas to fix the problem. Or can i somehow find out what cause of theese problems is?

I recently started building a PC (not my first time tinkering on parts, but first time starting from scratch), and I can't get it to turn on other than the motherboard ROG logo. I first started with a gigabyte x570-aorus elite, and initially that wouldn't turn on but it did post after we reset the cmos. we then turned off the pc and put in some new fans and AIO, and when we tried to start it back up, nothing turned on at all. no lights fans or anything. we tried many troubleshooting from updating the bios to trying only 1 stick of ram and switching to a different power supply that i know works. I took back the motherboard and exchanged it for a new one from micro center. I returned home and tried to use this motherboard which only had the motherboard light and nothing else. I tried flashing the bios to the latest version as well as ram tricks and no gpu but nothing has worked and I am beginning to think its either another faulty motherboard or a bad cpu ( there are no broken pins though I checked). System is as follows: Ryzen 5 5600 (new) ROG Strix B550-F Gaming (open box from Micro Center) 32GB (2x16) G.skill Ripjaws V DDR4-3200 (Open Box from Micro Center) Radeon RX 6600XT (open box from micro center) EVGA 280mm AIO (new) Power Spec 750W semi modular power supply (Open Box from Micro center) I've tried all of the troubleshooting options listed in the pinned post on this forum Thanks

Hi there, I moved from Japan to india . took my pc with me when i plugged into the power outlet I was using this pc for 2 years no issues everyday for avg 5-8 hrs a day and had faced no issues The machine starts as usual, gpu fans are turning lights on etc. then gpu led goes off fans running.. debug VGA light turns on. The white light stays lit and goes off after sometime..then Nothing on the screen, not even the BIOS screen... display backlight turn on but no video I took out the gpu and it worked fine with Integrated graphics ( Intel UHD) it worked everytime when I installed gt 210 it worked. So I thought it was a gpu card problem and I sent my gpu card to a repair service and they returned me and said "there is no problem with this gpu card, it works every time". They suggest me to look for a PSU or MOBO problem and I took my card, went home, installed it and it worked at first! Then it didn't again and again (tried about 20 times). Took my case to a repair shop to test it with other PSU or MOBO, but it worked there! The guy started the machine over and over and it booted every time! Took it to another shop, again it worked... It worked after I brought back to my home and played games like gta and valorant for some hours and turned it off .then when I turned back on again it wont show video out .. But it doesn't work at my home! Doesn't work at home, but works at repair shop. gpu doesnt have a VGA out so I use HDMI to VGA converter ..it has no issues when plugged into Integrated graphics Any suggestions? intel i7 8700K MSI b360 pro VDH Palit Xenon Jetstream GTX 1080ti Acbel 700w 80 PLUS bronze PSU

I recently purchased a new GPU, the RX 6600XT. When I first installed it into my system everything worked perfectly. The issue came about when I decided to reinstall windows. After a fresh install of Windows 10 I began to download drivers for both my cpu and gpu (ryzen 5 1600, 6600xt) and upon completion of the download and attempted restart my computer hasn't posted since, and the VGA led error light is lit on my motherboard. Trying all pcie slots with both my old and new gpu, clearing the CMOS, checking power supply connections, disconnecting drives, nothing I have tried has allowed me to get any post from the computer. All the lights in the system come on, all fans will spin including the gpu's, and yet nothing happens. I am not too familar with troubleshooting no post issues but to me it sems like installing drivers somehow broke something in my computer, is there anything I can try without an IGPU? Starting school soon and being down my main PC would be quite an issue so any help is greatly appreciated! PC Specs: Ryzen 5 1600, MSI Gaming Carbon Pro X370, 2x8gb Corsair Vengance, RX 6600xt (old gpu: R9 390x), Antec Edge 650W Gold, SSD + HDD

After coming back from a 45 minute car ride my PC won't start. Specs: ASUS x470 Prime Pro motherboard Ryzen 7 2700x (using wraith cooler that came with this) 4x 16gb G.Skill 3600 memory Asus TUF Gaming NVIDIA RTX 3080 1tb M.2 SSD, 500gb SATA SSD, 250gb SATA SSD, all samsung 700 watt EVGA Bronze power supply NZXT H510i case I first tried shorting the pins I connect the case power button to and got no response. I then unplugged the psu from everything and used a paperclip to short the green wire on the motherboard power connector and the PSU fan spun up, so I presume it is not a power supply issue but rather a motherboard one. I have since replugged in all of the power connections, reseated all of the ram, removed and reinstalled my graphics card to no avail. Is this a guaranteed motherboard issue or is there anything else I can try? I appreciate any help. Thank you.

Hi all, as the title says.. I just finished creating my new system, it has: Motherboard: MSI B450 Tomahawk Max II CPU: Ryzen 5 5600G RAM: 2x8GB 3600MHZ Corsair Vengeance PSU: Corsair CX750M GPU: GIGABYTE GTX 1080ti Case: Something from eBay After connecting all necessary connectors, PC starts up, GPU lights and fans on, case fans light up and are on, CPU fan also on, but no output on my display and on the EZ DEBUG lights the 'CPU' lights up. I checked for bent pins or any debris or any Thermal Paste but could not identify any. I also reinstalled the CPU cooler the other way to see if it might fix the issue. What am i doing wrong? As im writing this I am about to try and install the latest bios on the computer to see if that might do anything.

Hello, I just got a new ryzen cpu and mobo with ram. I got the LPX corsair ram 2x8gb 3000mhz, msi xpower titanium, 1700x. At first i thought it was the ram or mobo i decided to switch them and got my self a new board and ram but im still having the same issue , everything turns on fans spin including the CPU fan / radiator fans and also the gpu fans also turn on , but i get no signal on my display i tried different monitors and cords still same issue. i triple checked all my power cords and plugs , and even strip the system down several times still same issue. The cpus seems to be perfect all pins and also the boards socket looks perfect . Maybe i got a dead cpu ? oh btw the error code the board gives is 00 , according to the manual 00 is cpu temp/booting window . someone help plz

So I have 2 PC's one with a Ryzen 5 2400G Working fine completely fine and there's my old PC with Core 2 Duo (no oc) on a Foxconn G41MD mobo with 2Gb Ram, a 450 watt zebronics psu and a 1TB WD that i stopped using after I build the new one. Now after a year i turned it on just to check on if everything is fine, a short blast just happened inside the cabinate no smoke no burnt marks or smell but i know i did hear that sound. Now its now its not posting neither booting into bios just the cpu and cabinate fans are spinning tried all troubleshooting methods on youtube and this forums but this thing just doesn't wanna post. after the blast the old psu wasn't working so i troubleshooted using my other PC's psu. swapped the ram (Didn't work) disconnected the Hdd and periferals (Didn't work) cleared cmos (Didn't work) the mobo is getting power i guess thats why the fans are spinning. the cpu became hot doing nothing mobo vrm's were hot too i don't know where was i wrong suggest me i want get this pc up and running. Thanks if you read till here.

I recently upgraded to a Ryzen 3800x and X570 Taichi from an i5-6400 and MSI Z170A because the motherboard died. My power supply is a Thermaltake Smart M 750W, My gpu is an EVGA 2080 XC Ultra Gaming, and I can give other specs if necessary. The PSU should be plenty to run it and I had a repair shop test the psu and they said the voltages were fine so was the grounding to the case. I have bios edition 2.10 I’m pretty sure but I cannot check. I have no clue why the old motherboard died and why the issue is currently happening. Without an EPS connector, it turns on and runs fine with respect to LEDs but the fans will be off or very loud. With an EPS, it does this but shuts off for a second and stays like that if I try to turn it on. I have no explanation why and any help would be greatly appreciated.

!!!! I need #help #please !!! I upgraded from a Strix B450 F gaming, to a Asrock B550 Pro4; and cooling sytem, in the other hand, from a Deepcool Castle 240ex to a Corsair H100i, kept same CPU (R5 3600); same Corsair C16 RAMs (16Gbx3200mhz); same PSU (Thermaltake 750W 80+ White) and same Graphics card XFX RX 5700xt Thicc 3 Ultra. My PC wont post. Everything is on, but no display. Fans are spinning quite slow, specially the ones on the Aio radiator (Crosair's LL120 Series), and the lights of half of one fan go off as well sometimes. Switched RAMs to other slots: nada, tightened all cables again: same, restart the Bios by taking out the battery for 30sec: nope, tried a different Hdmi cable: mhm... right, Im lost at this point because I have some knowledge about gaming setups but Im no expert. My theory that maybe my power supply is just too old (non-modular, ketchup and mustard, old...old) and may not be compatible with my new chipset, so I bought a 750W fully modular 80+ Gld PSU from Corsair, coming tomorrow, in like 18hrs from now, did I do good in doing so? Did I got it right? Is there other cause for these sytem, maybe voltage, failure? Would I be able to game again? Find out tomorrow's episode of phuckd in www.p*rnh.... naa, joking lol, but seriously, #help, I havent been able to play in like a week :'/

Now the mobo wont start, it starts and stops, then it restarts and stays on without any post, with no beep or display output. I know my psu is fine, i used the same psu in my main rig, but no luck. I have tried wit a diffrent cpu, and ram, and i have made sure that my ram is ok. I have tried resetting the bios, changing cmos battery, but with no luck. I hope i can get some help with somebody that has a long experience with computer building!
