I have the Asus Z790-F motherboard which supports max 2.5gbps ethernet. My ISP has recently started offering 4gbps fiber optics connection, so I'm looking for a reliable 10gbps ethernet adapter for a max. of 150 euros. Googling it gave me lots of different options, so I'm here for some advice. Any suggestions?

I bought this cheap old (in 2008 high end) network adapter from eBay with the listing saying that it's supported by Windows 10 (I also found a reddit post stating this). When I got it I removed the backplate (half height by default) and plugged it into a PCIe 4x 2.0 slot on my motherboard (manual says it's 2.0, but in BIOS you can set it to 3.0???) and although the system booted into Windows 10 after three times boot recovery, the network adapter did not show up. I then plugged it into a PCIe 8x 3.0 slot (meant for SLI) and the system booted first try without detecting the network adapter. After setting the PCIe 8x slot to PCIe 8x 2.0, the system behaved like it was with the PCIe 4x 2.0 slot. What I get from this is that either my version of Windows doesn't like it or my motherboard doesn't like it. Specs: Network adapter: HP NC523SFP (BR3242 driver on QLogic's Website, legacy) (Compatible with PCIe 2.0 8x and 4x but not 3.0 or 1.x) Motherboard: X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING rev 1.0 CPU: R7 2700X RAM: Corsair LPX DDR4-3200 (at base speed) Help would be appreciated!

I have a very strange problem with my network connection. If I am idle, or using the internet sparingly then my network card would disconnect from my router every few minutes. When I manually disconnect and reconnect from the network manager it gets back on the network. This does not happen every day but when it starts it doesn't stop and a restart is not helping either so it is quite nerve wrecking. I have tried reinstalling the network card driver, but the issue stays. Wired connection works perfectly but is not convenient so using it is not a solution. I checked battery saving (however its a desktop) and idle power modes and none of them provided fixed the problem. The router cannot be the problem since only this device encounters this problem on the network. My machine is a prebuilt ASUS ROG G20 with its default wifi card: Realtek 8821AE Wireless LAN 802.11ac PCI-E NIC Can you recommend any solution, or monitoring software where I could find some useful logs about the disconnections?

Just recently bought a Fenvi FV-AC1200 for my older PC. It came with a disc but it's damaged, and every time I try to download it from the Fenvi website it just loads. If someone can send me a file or link for a driver it would be greatly appreciated. Keep in mind I said Older PC. Trying to fix it up so two people could play at once, it's not gonna be the best but it still works. Specs: OS:Windows 7(64-bit) CPU:i3-2100 RAM:12gb GPU:Nvidia GTX 660

My WIFI card won't fit so I'm thinking about getting a PCIE extender PCIE 1x. If it doesn't fit what should I use instead, don't have enough for new motherboard

Hello I just built a new pc about a month ago and for the most part it works great but, for certain things I get software and even hardware crashes. attached is the error I get after a full pc crash. I also don't get blue screens from these crashes it just restarts the computer. This has occurred mostly when playing Elder Scrolls Online but has also occurred with almost any other Online game or software. I've been trying to do backups to Idrive backup service and it can only get through about 25 gigs before it crashes my comp and causes the ethernet cable to not register until I restart the comp again. I also got a crash while I was working in Substance painter and tried connecting to a zoom call for class. I get no issues with single player offline games or with browsing through chrome or downloading things to a drive. After much testing and troubleshooting I have come to the conclusion that the issue is most likely to do with the network controller on my motherboard or something related to it. Seems any large amounts of constant data like loading and manipulating assets in ESO causes a memory leak or corruption that causes the program to just shut down or sometimes even a cpu crash. I also know it isnt a internet provider issue because I get no issues with my previous pc on the same connection and none of the other device me or my roommate use have any issues. I have uninstalled and reinstalled every driver I could find, set the bios to default, gone through support for most of the software, ran memtest86 with full pass/no errors, ran my internet through both ethernet and wifi-usb with little change, my temp monitoring doesn't show any throttling either. Any Ideas before I give up and take it to a pc repair place? here are my specs and attached is the mem error I get most of the time when it crashes the pc: Ryzen 7 5800x Asus ROG Strix B550 a-gaming MOBO 32 GB Corsair 3600mhz Vengeance RGB White Nvidia EVGA Windforce gtx980 Corsair iCUE H150i Elite Capellix AIO Corsair RM750x PSU Lian-Li Lancool II mesh 2 of the fans that came with the case, 3 Corsair RGB fans that came with the AIO and 3 more Corsair RGB Case fans also a set of Corsair LS100 Lighting Strips connected via USB

Hi, I am wondering if it's possible to do Link Aggregation/LACP with my motherboard's built in 1Gbps port and an additional 1Gbps port card. Is this possible to get 2Gbps theoretical speeds (In Link Aggregation/LACP mode) if I use the built in NIC and one 3rd party NIC? Was thinking of getting a card like this one on eBay so I get an additional NIC and some extra USBs. Thanks,

Hi, I have a motherboard with an extra PCIe 3.0 x1 slot. I wanted to put a NIC like this Dual Port Gigabit PCI Express Server Network Adapter Card and was wondering if the PCIe 3.0 x1 will bottleneck a 2-port gigabit card that's using full bandwidth. Let's say I configure it to Link Aggregation/LACP and make it effectively 2gbps. Will the PCIe 3.0 x1 slot bottleneck this card? If so, how much of a hit would it take? Thanks,

I've been having really bad connection issues with my desktop for about a month or so. I have no idea what the issue is, I have no idea how it started. I cannot use ethernet, it'd require drilling through a wall or the floor, also my mum won't allow it for that reason and she doesn't want me having a monopoly on it in a house of five. The router is in the next room, between my desktop and the router is a wall. My desktop is next to a wall. My network interface card is a TP-Link Archer T4E AC1200. I changed ISP today, from Sky to Virgin. The Mbps seems to have improved, however I'm still having issues. My connection strength seems to go all over the place, this morning when the router was newly put in I reached 100 Mbps on my desktop, this evening I'm scraping 20 Mbps. Often my connection will just cut out completely. In a game of League of Legends I will go from having 30ish ping to 10,000 ping. Over the summer my connection was completely fine, it only got worse about a month or so ago without me making any change. How can I troubleshoot this? I have an inkling it's my network card but then it seems odd that it would connect me to the wifi at all if that was the case. Please help I am at my wit's end and have no idea what to do.

I've switched from Sky to Virgin internet today, the Mbps on Ookla on my desktop has gone from aorund 5-15 Mbps to 50-100 Mbps. As I was playing League I had great ping in the 30s or so, however I suddenly had spikes where I'd disconnect from the game. When that happened it wouldn't reconnect manually, I had to turn off wifi and reconnect to my router. Does this seem like an issue with my network card? I don't have ethernet as an option. Edit - My network card is a TP-Link Archer T4E AC1200

My motherboard does not have integrated wifi/bluetooth, so I bought a seperate card for it. I got the TP-Link Archer TX50E. It works fine most of the time, but every time I turn my PC off and turn it on again it doesn't work and I have to troubleshoot the bluetooth drivers to reinstall them to get them to work. Any suggestions to how I can avoid this, or anything I can do to not have to do that? It's a minor inconvenience at worst, I know that.

I bought a TP-Link AC1200 PCIe network card a while back and ever since i bought it ive had problems with it and it makes using my pc very annoying. The reason i bought it was becasue the motherboard i have in my gaming rig doesnt have built in wifi or bluetooth so i saw this on amazon and it had a 5 star rating so i bought it. My problem with it is that it will often have super high ping spikes like in Hunt Showdown it was reading a ping of over 30 000 and same with Rust. Another big issue is that the 2.4g doesnt work and will conect to my routers 2.5g network but when i go into my browser it says no connection or it says to check my DNS settings. the 5g network works but has the frustrating ping spikes. Ive tried tp-link's drivers and they dont work and ive tried drivers from intel because the chip on the card is a Intel dual band wireless- AC 7265. i should have returned this card but i didnt because i thought i could fix it with drivers and now its too late to return. i was wondering if theres a setting im missing or a fix im not aware of. Or maybe i got a bad card from the batch but nonetheless it is very frustrating. Any help would be very appreciated.

Hi! I am looking for a PCI-E network card for my desktop computer that will support WiFi 6 at 160 MHz bandwidth. My router is Huawei AX3 WS7100-20 (Dual-Core) System: Windows 11 (64 bit) So far I have had the opportunity to test 2 cards: - Tenda E30 - Asus PCE-AX3000 The problem with them was that they were not able to connect to the network if the network’s bandwidth was set to 20/40/80/160 MHz. Windows was showing that I was connected to the network but I couldn’t access the Internet or even router’s page. In the case of 20/40/80 MHz cards were connecting without any problems, but the speed was ~250-300 Mbps Other devices (Xiaomi 12, Quest 2) connect to the network without any problem (160 MHz) and reach speeds of 900+ Mbps Both cards were using Intel AX200 module and I assume this is where the problem is https://community.intel.com/t5/forums/searchpage/tab/message?q=AX200 160 MHz Could you recommend any card that is reliable and will work with WiFi 6 160 MHz? I was thinking about the Gigabyte GC-WBAX210, but I'm afraid of having problems again Thanks in advance

Hi everyone! Today I started my pc, and I wanted to test some stuff with vr and hotspots but then my WiFi option disappeared, and after that my WiFi channel in control panel disappeared. When I go Into device manager it is only there when I enable see hidden items and then it says this device doesn't exists. I reinstalled de driver, together with the Bluetooth(it's combo) then I got it to work for les than 2-3 minutes. I used some CMD commands, but those didn't help(from the guides) Can anyone help me? Thx for your time!

I got a C100C a while ago. Since then as soon as i download big files like 60gb, it downloads at 500mb and goes upwards. after 5min my internet connection just goes away because the c100c doesnt get any internet anymore. It is still connected and found in device manager but it just says "No Connection". After a PC Reboot it works as usually. Always when i download big files, it just turns off. Why does it turn off because i dont think that it couldnt handle my 10gbit connection. Got new wires, new Switch and it works.

I have 2 TP-Link TX401s 10G nics one connected to my pc, another connected to a windows server, I use the windows server so I don't have to have any HDDs and some SSDs in my main pc, but I have to access them constantly. What driver settings should I setup in windows device manager for better performance. Like anyway I can make the connection never sleep? Higher buffer sizes? I just don't know what is safe to change and/or what I should change them too. I have the latest drivers installed.

Hello, I bought a gigabit network card because my integrated has only 100mbit, and I have home NAS so it would not be great with 100mbit. But if I plug that network card to PCIe video output, stop working both on integrated graphic card and regular. I first thought that I messed up something, but if I unplug the card, everything working as it should. But one interesting thing happens if I plug it to PCIe x16 it work, so what should I do then? Network card: TP-LINK TG-3468 Note: I have only one PCIe and PCIe x16 on the motherboard

Hi, For a while I've been experiencing this kind of behavior on my lenovo yoga (ryzen model). Yellow part is where it has internet connection, orange part is the correction of test's false data, (where the graph is perfectly flat there is in fact no connection) The same behavior occurs on my home WiFi, previous WiFi setup and multiple WiFi outside my home, the only way to use the internet is to plug the ethernet cable. I have tested exaxtly the same laptop model I have access to and it shows the same behaviour. I updated all the drivers from lenovo's website and reinstalled network adapter multiple times. I tried reattaching network card and swapping it with different model with no outcome. Any idea what could help? I'm really desperate to repair this flaw because it makes any voice chat or remote desktop connection impossible (especially managing a VM) Thanks in advance for any help! Driver I'm running: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/yoga-series/yoga-530-14arr/81h9/81h90046pb/pf15czdb/downloads/driver-list/component?name=Networking%3A Wireless LAN

Hello Forum, I wanted to install and configure pfSense (open-source firewall) on my old PC. The problem is that the CPU doesn't have onboard graphics and I only have one PCIe slot because the motherboard is ITX form factor. So I used AMD Radeon dedicated GPU but then I was asked to install the second network interface (TP Link Network Card). That means that the GPU has to be removed in order to install another PCIe card. So I possibly did something very stupid and hot-swapped the two cards in order to try a blind configuration with only following tutorial steps and pressing keys. After I removed the network card and installed the GPU again, CPU and case fans are running, even GPU fan is running. But no boot signal and no picture. I removed every component except CPU but it still won't give any signal that RAM is missing. Does it mean that the motherboard is dead?

Hi! Im going to be installing a few bits and bobs on my friends PC tomorrow and have been looking everywhere for the Network drivers but cannot find anything. I also looked into the Broadcomm 52XX which it says here under specs: http://www.findlaptopdriver.com/ms-7543-ver2-0-mainboard-specs-42018h0357/ but cant seem to find those either. Any advice? Are the network drivers not need as its a plug and play? Thanks!

I bought a Aorus X5v6 a week ago. I am having problem with the download speed with it in my room. I only got 1-2MB per second compare to the 3 I got on my old Toshiba laptop(according to steam) and about 4 time as bad lag. I decide to try again in my living room where the router is located. I got 3.8 with my Aorus. With is the listed speed for my home's internet(30Mbps, 3.75MB per second). I tried to move around a bit and figure out is the range causing the slow connection. I literally move back 2 meter and the speed drop to 3.2MB per second. I contacted Aorus support with little success so I Google it. I found out some Alienware and MSI with the killer card also have this problem. My question is: is this a defect on some product or is it just a characteristic of the Killer network card? If this is a characteristic of the network card, is the anything I can do to improve the situation? My house is fairly old, running a second router or just wire to my room is not very practical, so that solution is not viable. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi all, so for my PC i have a network card plugged into one of my mobo pcie slots, the network card itself works (once this problem is sorted of course) but whenever i switch my PC off by the wall and turn it back on again and log in the network card doesn't work, it still comes up with the list of networks that are in range but refuses to connect to any of them (including my own) once i click reset in the start menu and does its thing everything is perfectly fine. if i power the PC off but leave it switched on at the wall when i switch the PC back on the are no problems. Wondering if there was a fix so that i do't have to go through this painful process every time. note; i've already tried to plug it into a different pcie slot and still no difference (Also no obvious answers like "just always keep the plug socket on then") Thanks if you can help me
