Hi everyone, I got a question I was wondering you might be able to help me solve. So, I (like many others) still play Payday 2 and lets just say the Diesel Game Engine has not aged well - it was never great to begin with but that's another rant for a different story. While I have the system to obtain high FPS (a 144 fps at nearly all maxed settings) I notice a lot of game hitching in certain heists. I know how to fix this by doing the following: Launch the Game Alt + Tab and bring up the Task Manager Find the Payday 2 Process Manually set the CPU Affinity to use cores 0-5 on my Ryzen 5 3600. Once those steps are done - the issue disappears. Here's my question: Is there a way to do this automatically with the launch of the game through Steam, or for it to be automatically done on the game's launch? I did find this SuperUser thread (https://superuser.com/questions/908848/how-do-i-permanently-set-the-affinity-of-a-process) that describes something similar, however Payday is weird and occasionally will not launch via a shortcut that has been modified (it sometimes insists that it is launched through Steam :/) It's not that much of a hassle to do, but having it done automatically would be nice. Cheers for reading and I look forward to possible help with this issue.

Source The german based infosec team named Team SIK has released a devestating report which points out big security flaws in mainstream password manager apps for android. Acording to their own site the vendors have updated their apps to mitigate against these exploits. They decided which apps to test by choosing the most popular ones based on download count from the google play store. this is very worrying to say the least.

I have some issues with Realtek HD Audio Manager not showing up.. I have a Windows 10 64bit and I wanted to connect my ONKYO HT-R395 5.1 surround sound system via HDMI port on my motherboard but it just doesn't work.. I also don't have Digital Audio (HDMI) device in the playback devices list. Any ideas? I have all of the drivers installed and the ones from NVIDIA (GPU) disabled in hope to bring the Digital Audio (HDMI) device back on the playback list

Hi! I work part time at this local computer store, were we restore and tune a lots of computers infected by malware and other bad programs that impacts computers negatively. And today I happened to come across this video from Linus Tech Tips, were he uses a gadget called “Password Reset Key” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J_JIhn3vJVI&t). As he states in the end of the video that it is a great tool for a computer shop. I wanted to obtain a copy but it was not listen on Amazon anymore, so I started to look for alternatives but could not find any good ones. (The plan was to burn an iso file to my own usb drive) Do you guys know any good Windows password utility’s that works for Windows 10, that I later can burn to a usb drive? Thanks for the help! //Erik

I'm just wondering, I personally use KeePass, how about you guys? Can you guys state your reason as well for choosing the software? I'm a bit obsessed with open-source stuff, besides I don't really like the idea of storing stuff online where syncing is a thing. I like to keep my passwords offline, well KeePass' got lots of plugins as well which might be useful someday.

I ran into so many issues with my build recently that I decided to install a fresh Windows 10 OS. Afterwards however I now have to boot using Windows Boot Manager. I've always been able to boot directly from the primary drive before yet now I'm stuck with the boot manager. It slows my boot time down to 18.2 seconds. I want to know why it added the boot manager this time around and how I can get rid of it. I've set the boot manager timeout to 0 using command prompt which then resulted in only showing me the boot manager as a boot option within my bios. Again I just want to boot directly from my m.2 drive and completely remove the boot manager. Thanks in advance for any help.

I just installed a used internal wireless card into a system I just built with half used parts and I'm trying to diagnose whether or not I'm dealing with a dead wireless card or a dead pci-e port. Since the card won't show up in device manager what I'm wondering is would the card show up in there without any drivers installed on it? (admittedly, I forgot to check the model before installing, so I'll have to tear it down again to find out the model to manually search for the drivers if I have to...) But I ran driver booster which came up as fully updated with the card installed. If the card is dead I'm also wondering if it may have been my fault as there was a little accidental twisting of the wires that connect the antenna's to the board as I tried to unscrew/screw the antennae on. Are the wires on these things that sensitive??

Hey guys, So I have MSI GE63 8RF-099CA laptop. (Windows10 Home OEM) It was running slow with new Windows 10 update (1803). So I tired to clean install the new update on laptop and its kind a messed up. Here what I did. I made USB flash drive by using Windows Media Creation Tool from another laptop (MSI GE62 -- Windows 10 Home OEM with 1803 update). Now I boot this USB flash drive and install the Windows 10 Home all went good and perfectly fine until I saw that as Cortona proceed to connect to network, the Wi-Fi adapter wasn't showing up. So I inserted Ethernet Cable and did the installation. I never signed in with my Microsoft account. All went good Now the big problem. When I tired to install latest version of Nvidia Graphics Card Driver. It says "The NVIDIA graphics driver is not compatible with this version of Windows. This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware. I used driver package as well as GeForce Experience but it still says the same. It did same with the Nahimic sound application which always comes with MSI laptop. So the next thing I did was to update the driver manually from Device Manager. It did some updates on PCI - PCI (something like that) and the name was changed to PCI Express Root port #15 and #9 After that I found there are no Chipset 300 family drivers installed in it. Like one the usually have. Also when I tired to update Intel Graphics from Device Manager it says you have the best driver installed, which was not the best because I installed it through Intel Driver Update Utility. I cant install Graphics Card driver or any other drivers. It just say that the software is not compatible with the hardware. Also I have to manually update WLAN driver to get Wi-Fi other it was just the Ethernet. What I think over here there is some kind of problem is with the PCI and Chipset that the software is not compatible with the hardware. So how can I solve this problem. Also is it possible to get the MSI factory image, because as I clean install it I formatted the whole SSD and HDD where everything was there. How can I get MSI Recovery to restore the factory image.

Hi all, I need help to locate or download a software that will let me create partition or manage it, from DOS before the windows or other OS could be loaded. If details are needed please reply. partition manager that can help create, delete, format the drive post boot. I am creating a multi-boot drive. Which has all the OS such as 1. Windows 98 to 10 including the server, business, home, ultimate versions 2. NAS OS ( Free Nas, Nas4free, Open Media Vault and so on) 3. Ubuntu 4. Mac OS ( all versions) 5. Linux Based OS 6. Hirens Boot CD 7. Norton Ghost and so on So a partition manager is required. That can help me create partitions, so if I have to change the OS type there should not be any issue at all. And is can use just one partition manger for all OS. Note: If possible the partition manager should be able loaded itself and should not be along with any OS. Thanks.

Basically I had my PC (FX 8350, R9 380X) with windows installed on a hard drive. I then upgraded to an i7 6800K and R9 Fury adding an SSD. So I did a fresh Windows install., formatted the drives etc etc but Windows Boot Manager has stayed on the HDD, not moved to the SSD, which hasn't been a problem until now - because I want to remove it. I want to remove it and put it in a new HTPC I've just built but as soon as I remove it I get boot errors (from the motherboard presumably) that there is no boot device installed. When I plug it back in it all works fine, but I need to remove it. Any help would be greatly appreciated - cheers!

Hey there, I have a SSD for my OS(win10) and other programs and then a 2TB WD Black for games and other media. I have Steam, GoG, Origin, etc. installed on the SSD and then installing/pointing all my games to the storage HDD. I am about to install NexusMod Manager but I'm unsure of where to install it to. Is it best to house it on the OS HDD and then point it's mod directory to the storage HDD where the bulk of the games are? Or should I just have the NMM installed on the storage HDD and then everything will be in one place? Also, what's up with NMM creating a folder called Games? It makes it confusing which the main games folder is.. Thanks!

I just built a small form factor PC for an uncle. My problem is that I'm not sure if this motherboard I picked is missing a feature that I'm used to or if it's available and I can't find it. My motherboard is the Asus H110I Plus with 8 channel Realtek ALC887. For starters I've noticed that the Realtek HD Audio Manager looks different; now it has an Asus logo on it with a dark gray and blue layout GUI. I'm used to it looking like this: The Asus color schemed one on my PC appears to be missing the "Device Advanced Settings" options. From those advanced settings I can set it so the front headphone jack and rear speaker devices can be listed as separate playback devices. Then if I want to switch between the speakers and headphone it's just a few clicks away under playback devices without any plugging or unplugging. The way it is now the rear speakers and front headphone jack are the same Realtek High Definition Audio default device, they share it. If I pull out the front headphones the real panel speakers will work, otherwise the speakers don't get the sound. I initially installed the audio drivers from the Asus website like the other stuff. I decided to uninstall those Asus audio drivers and to get the ones from the Realtek website in an effort to get the regular HD Audio Manager with the settings I want. In the jumble of uninstalled and reinstalled the regular Realtek package audio drivers I noticed briefly that my rear panel speakers and front panel headphones were listed separately in playback devices, I even switched between them and did sound tests. This was a good sign, but after all the restarts were over the 2 different devices disappeared and everything was the same as it ever was. This stupid Asus GUI Audio Manager keeps coming back and I still see no way to find those advanced device settings. The Asus Audio Manager has a limited option section without the setting I'm looking for near the "About" menu option. I've uninstalled the audio drivers in a effort to get rid of the Asus Manager by using Control Panel, Device Manager and from the Realtek site .exe package. The Asus GUI keeps coming back over and over again. My case is the Coolermaster Elite 110. This seems like a Motherboard/Windows issues.

So after my laptop started acting up in all kinds of ways (99% cpu usage from svchost, virus scans came out clean), I decided to just reinstall windows. Unfortunately, I had forgotten what a fucking horror this piece of crap thing is to set up. It's an Acer aspire ES1-311 and of course after it was already too late, I began vaguely remembering that it took me about a week to get the touchpad up and running last time. Well now I've done roýally screwed up. As I was throwing everything I had at the problem, trying to see what would stick, I made the mistake of uninstalling the touchpad in the windows device manager. Big mistake, now the thing won't show up at all. No unknown devices in the device manager, no touchpad, no nothing. It's just gone. How the fuck do I get this piece of crap back to where I can at least try to find working drivers for it? Oh, and on a side note, PSA: NEVER buy an Acer product that ships without an OS. There's no support, no drivers, no nothing.

Hello, I would like some help with my problem. Before this happened, I was playing Black Ops 3 on my computer, and then I logged out of my windows account and restarted my PC. And then this is where thew problem started. The screen went black for a moment and then Window Boot Manager appeared. I had two options, Windows 7, and Windows 10 Pro (recovered). I chose Win 10 Pro (recovered) and then it said File: \windows\system32\winload.exe Status: 0xc0000428 Info: Windows cannot verify the digital signature for this file. I exited out and chose Win 7. All it did was check for "problems" and said there were no problems. I really need help, guys. And if you do help, I would really appreciate your help. Thanks Yinfin22

Booting staright to the BIOS + Windows Boot Manager
Transnerfer_N7 posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Hi, When I turned my computer on this morning, I was surprised to find that it booted straight to the BIOS for some reason. And I have no idea why. I tried to boot from my SSD, but it went straight back to the BIOS after the screen went black quickly. Then I noticed there was something called 'windows boot manager' in the boot list in my BIOS. I've never actually noticed this, booting from this loaded up the OS just fine (i think it even booted a little faster). Am I supposed to boot from the boot manager or the SSD? Also, any ideas why it went straight to BIOS and not windows? Thanks EDIT: I just realised that when i turned it on the first time, my headphones were on my keyboard...on the delete key. May explain why it booted to BIOS. Still scratching my head about the boot manager though, any help is appreciated.
