Has anyone worked on the lian li 011 dynamic, if so does anyone know the length that they got for their CPU and GPU connectors. I'm trying to get costume cables from cable mods and was wondering if anyone here knew what length they got. If not any recommendations will help. This will go straight into the PSU, and it's not going to be an extension.

Hey guys. So i was looking for a good case for airflow and came upon the Fractal Meshify C. The problem is that I bought a KFA RTX 3070 EX 8GB Gamer graphics card which is 316 mm in length while the case says that it supports up to 315 mm (with fan installed). Do you think there's no room for that 1 mm or is that just a guideline? Thanks in advance

Ok so i have my gaming desktop which is upstairs in the office room. Its a tiny room, enough to play VR games that dont require moving too much. My living room is downstairs and has plenty of space for movement. So i have a question for this community. How on earth do i use my VR headset in the living room while keeping the desktop in the office. The headset is the Oculus Rift S and from a rough measurement point of view, if any cables were to be placed, they would need to be between 15m and 20m long and need to run on the outside of the house. From what iv gathered, ill need possibly an active extension for the USB, display port and HDMI (to TV). The only way i can see doing this job is by having all ports run over 3 separate CAT6 extensions. (Not ideal) Is there anything on the market that would allow me to have all of these on one device so i can run it from a single CAT6 cable?? Or does anyone have any better ideas as i want to get this done in the most efficient way possible.

So I was watching the JayzTwoCents video on the new ROG eGPU enclosure and also watched his second video where he attempts to get better performance and I got to wondering. Does the cable length of the thunderbolt cable make a difference? Im not talking about the quality of the data that goes through. I don't think that it degrades any. The bigger thing was getting data to and from the enclosure faster. By going from a 3 ft. cable to a 1 ft cable reducing significantly the amount of possible instructions pulsing through the cable at any second while also reducing the total travel time (which is small granted). Or at least I think it does. I did some flimsy math based on the speed of light vs. the possibly amount of cycles of cpu data that could be sent based on a quad core processor. Basically at the speed of light and rounding down to 3ghz you could have about 30 cycles worth of data in the cable at any given time per core at 3 feet. This number is down to 10 per core at a 1 ft cable. My Google Fu has failed to produce any search results for such things and figured I would ask here to see if anyone might have encountered this.

Anyone else getting this feature? It just showed up a few minutes ago for me: New bar at the bottom of watched videos that shows how much of it you viewed. This is way more visible than the "watched" translucent tag at the top, which now only shows up if you watched the full length of a video. I think this is a great feature, makes it a lot more obvious what I have seen or not, or what I had to leave half way watched and wanted to come back to finish later. Also for people with slight OCD, it is like an incentive to watch the full video, which will benefit content creators with watch time %. Thoughts?

A long time ago, I was looking for the maximum length that my Displayport cable could be to connect a 1440p 144hz monitor to my 980 ti. I discovered that the maximum length is about 15 feet, give or take a couple feet based on the quality of the cable. I tried huge numbers of cables and different solutions and eventually had to move my furniture instead of getting a longer cable. With Displayport 1.4 on newer graphics cards, such as the GTX 1080, are potential cable lengths higher than they were before? Or is a long cable run still in the realm of Thunderbolt?

How often do you find yourselves with too short a cable and need cable extensions?(like your cable cant reach all the way across)

Let me preface by saying that I have watched the LTT video on cables. The video only seemed to cover artifacting/signal loss at long distances though. Alright, so from what I've gathered the Vive's cables are only about 15ft long out of the box. My questions are: How long could you extend the Vive's HDMI and USB cables before you would experience input lag? Also what solutions would you suggest for extending the cable length. Are active cables overkill. Does any amount of repeaters produce a noticeable amount of input lag?

Hey LTT Forum, I want to put my PC case on a shelf above my monitors and my idea was make a custom power button in my desk. Is there anyone who knows what the max. length of the cable running to the power button is? Thanks in advance! Kind Regards, Vashan

Hi I was wondering if you guys could suggest in the UK a company that can make custom cables but I’ve tried the ones that people will naturally suggest they don’t offer 10 to 15 cm and my second question is does this make any changes to the actual power in and output? Basically with it from my motherboard? I have an SF 600 psu. As you can see on photo. I need so little not 30cm. thank you.

First off I must say I have little to no experience with CDs/DVDs except for installing OS's or storing some regular data. Hey, so I found a bunch of empty CD-R's I bought and forgot long ago, and I decided to give them some use, but to my surprise, they are limited to 80 minutes. So, the CD is 700Mb, if a track was 10Mb, which is a pretty big exaggeration, I'd have space for at least 70 songs. But. If average music length is 4m, I'll only be able to have 20 in there, and I'll be left with a lot of wasted space. I have a 250+ music playlist, if I have an old radio I wanna listen to it on, I'll have to switch CDs 12+ times, not to even talk about burning the cds in the first place, or buying them. Why is that? I've googled it, and maybe I'm just bad at google, but I can't figure

Hey guys I just wanna say thanks for taking the time to try and help me. My question is simple, yet complicated. I run in a corsair 750D (pretty big case) and I want to try and use corsair GPU watercoolers for both of my 970's using their HG10 N970 GPU brackets. I was wondering if anyone knows if any of the corsair GPU watercoolers hoses/radiators will reach from the GPU, to the front or bottom fan mounting points. I have looked for this answer online for a few days now, but I am hoping someone here will be able to tell me if "No, the hoses won't reach" or "Yes/It will work if you do it "x" way". Thank you for your help.

Hey guys so I have had this case for 5 years and I never really used my HDD enclosure. I attached my HDD's with a 5.25 adapters but considering I probably need to get some more storage I want to start using the enclosure, problem is cable length when it goes behind the case and through the hole barely reaches the Sata connection on the motherboard to the point where it looks like it's loosely joined. What is the usual length of the cable you get when you purchase HDD's and what's the recommended length for a case like this?

Hi, I am new to watercooling and my last build was in 2004 so I am behind the times. My question is about the length of the loop between units. For instance do I want to have the shortest lengths in between or can I make a design out of the loops? I haven't read anywhere that there was any significant difference, but seeing what the fine folks here have to say?

Hi there! As I am nearing my completion of having a PC all I need is a GPU. I already have the "Basics" of a Computer built. The reason why I didnt grab the GPU while buying my other parts is because I wanted to wait for prices to come down or save enough money, now I have $400. Would any of these GTX 970's fit my Apex PC-389-C case? 1. MSI GTX 970 OC 2. MSI GTX 970 Gaming 3. Asus Strix I can only buy a Graphics card and not buy a new case because I don't live in the US and shipping rates are high (Like $25-50).

Hi guys, I just bought the Gigabyte Z97x Gaming GT motherboard and am trying to connect the cards on top and the bottom PCIE slots (1st and 4th), but the SLI bridges are not long enough. I got a 4 way SLI bridge, but it doesn't work for 2-way SLI and tells me to connect a SLI bridge once I power on. I need a longer flexible SLI bridge 140mm (14cm) but I cant seem to find one ANYWHERE, does anyone here know where to get one? Thanks

Hey guys! My current PC case is the Rosewill FBM-01 and I was looking at the Sapphire Radeon R9 280 to upgrade to. Here's the full info on the card(including pictures): http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeon-PCI-Express-Graphics-11230-00-20G/dp/B00IZXOW80/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1431478964&sr=8-1&keywords=sapphire+r9+280 The length of the card is ~10 inches and the length of the case is just under 14 inches. Do any of you Rosewill FBM-01 owners know if that card will fit in there with any spare space? If you think it will be too cramped in, feel free to suggest any case replacements you think are right.

[Planning] I need help solving a space issue.
lookaquarter posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
So, I've decided most of the components I want in a new build. However, two of these parts, the gpu, a r9 295x2 and the case, a Corsair 240 air carbide, on paper, do not fit together. Here are the links to the products on pcpartpicker: Case: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/corsair-case-cc9011070ww GPU: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/xfx-video-card-r9295x8qfa I think they can fit however, because the 11.42 in videocard limit on the case, is not including the space in the front of the case included for a 240mm radiator. I wanted to ask some smarter folk about this, to see what others may think would work. At the moment, the only way to those two parts fit, would be to go with a non-watercooled cpu cooler, and mount the gpu cooler to the upper front of the case, and possibly mount a single fan below it if that fits. However, I'd rather the watercooled cpu if possible. Thanks for reading and I'm eagerly waiting for any creative/uncreative solutions you guys may have for this problem. (This may be important, my entire build planned so far: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/lookaquarter/saved/LLC9TW)- 5 replies

Hi I'm just doing a final check before ordering parts and I don't want to buy a GTX 970 G1 only to realize it won't fit. I'm really hoping someone already has the same case and graphics card and can let me know that it fits. Case: Cooler Master Storm Trooper Graphics Card: Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 (I don't have either of these yet) On Cooler Masters Website it says the maximum GPU length is: 322 mm On Gigabytes Website it says it has a length of: 312 mm Is this with the hard drive cages removed? Is 10 mm enough clearance? I guess this could be taken as a stupid question but I just want to be 100% sure. And to make things just that bit more complicated; Newegg has on its website that it is 15.9" which is approximately 404 mm What???? Thanks for the help in advance.

I'm doing a water cooling build in the furniture were tubing goes across my walls from the computer to radiators. So I was wondering how can a D5 variable pump go and where should I put another pump? Taking in that I will be going through radiators and waterblocks. Thanks

I own an NZXT Guardian 921RB http://www.nzxt.com/product/detail/109-guardian-921-rb-case and I think it's a half decent case but the thing that annoys me most is this. I have an MSi A55M-E35 Micro ATX board in it and the front panel audio connector plugs in at the bottom left corner; The rest of the front panel connectors reach more than adequately but the audio cable is stretched to it limits -.- . So, I was wandering, would any store sell some type of extender cable or maybe a place i could just by a whole new audio cable? I think for normal ATX board it will work fine, but on this board it's horrifying. TY in advance --- Heller
