Hello, I hope there is someone out there to help me. It's a bit of an exotic issiue. Actually I don't know if thats the right Forum for my request. Maybe there's an Admin who knows where this thread would better fit in. I recently dug out my old LEGO cybermaster set and tried to make it work. I wanted to show my son (5 years old) the fantastic world of Lego Cybermaster. So I set up a VM (VirtualBox) with windows XP and installed the Cybermaster software there. Everything's runnung greatly. (If someone is interested I'd love to share the setup process). I can start the software and get a connection in game between the tower unit and the mobile unit. I connected the Tower Unit through a Serial-USB Connector with the PC (its a windows surface 4pro by the way). It takes some time to connect, but it always will (I assume it's due to the VM). In Game I can controll the Mobile unit directly with arrow keys and the additional motor with CTRL and ALT. No Problem. My Son and I having already a great time with the set. So it was already worth it. PROBLEM: I cannot download a Program (Code) to the mobile unit. When I try, the Tower starts flickering as well as the mobile unit, but after a few seconds the mobile unit just turns off. No Programm downloaded. I also installde Bricx Command Center directly in Windows 10. Here the connection starts immediately. I, again, have direct control via the "Brick Joystick" Tool and the "Direct Control" Tool. I cann also play music notes through the "Brick Piano". But still I cannot download code to the Mobile Unit. I can write code and compile ist successfully, but the download always crashes. I own three Mobile units (and Towers) now for testing. All show the same behavior. I assume it's got something to do with the Serial Connector. Maybe the Read and Writing timings are off. But i have no idea what to change them to. I hope someone here can help me. I'd really love to show my son how we can program the robot to do what we want. Thank you very much.

Hi! My name is Damjan and I want to show the World what I'm working on! My current self-isolation situation is an excellent excuse to start a new project: A LEGO Technic built PC case! Because am not a person who could concisely modify a LEGO brick (there is a special place in hell for people who would), I decided to 3D print my own bricks which would serve as an interface between computer components and real LEGO bricks. I expect two challenges: Structural integrity: To properly mount and support heavy PC components I decided to build mostly with Technic bricks. I have quite some experience with that (I participate in LEGO Truck Trial races, Google it) so with some careful planning that should not be a problem. Heat: My "production" (not prototypes) 3D printed bricks will be made out of the same material as LEGO bricks - the ABS plastic which starts deforming at around ~80°C. No computer component should reach this temperature, but I will make sure everything is ventilated properly anyway. The heat is the reason I'm starting with PC fan mounts: I also made some hard drive and SSD mounts: I welcome you to join me on this adventure! Updates will follow soon. Cheers!

No, I'm not announcing a new lego game. I'm here to talk about an odd feeling I've experienced with the newer Lego games. Now, you can detect the change between the newer and older Lego games. An "older" lego game will feature the current player character surrounded by a blue circle for P1 or a green Circle for P2. In the "Newer" gamestthese circles will be stylized to fit the franchise, or will feature animated character portraits that move around. The thing is, I'm finding that the newer games aren't as enjoyable for me as the older games. the older games I can easily go back to ecen today and play through whole episodes, however with the newer games I feel drained after just one level. There may be several culprits to this issue. One is that the new games have considerably longer levels. Compare a playthrough of the first level of Lego Star Wars the Video game (the first one, not force awakens or Skywalker saga, whenever that one releases.) And a playthrough of the most recent game (I believe it's DC Super villains.) The new levels are considerably longer than the old ones. But that doesn't account for Lego The Lord of the Rings, the first of the Lego games to feature mid-level checkpoints and a large open-world to explore. It may be the separation of Lead Developer Jon Burton. His last Lego game was Avengers, and my first experience lf burnout occured with Marvel Super Heroes 2. It also may be the change of the game engine, which brought in prettier graphics, flashier effects and noticeably longer load times. Have you felt burnout of the new lego games? What do you think about the new games? And what explanations can you provide to this burnout? P.S. is there any way to commission a speedrun. In the same vein as this topic, Icd like someone to speedrun the first level of every lego game. (Not including the complete Saga, which is a compilation of Lego Star Wars and Lego Star Wars II) The conditions being that the first level of each game must be finished without the use of glitches and they must complete the associated yellow bar for each level. Save the times individually for each level, so the lengths can be compared.

I like making custom LEGO Technic builds. I was thinking of the pieces that gets me out of difficult situations and a piece consistently comes to mind: This piece is an hero! It does a 90° twist, while having two anchors that keeps it firm. It's great for all sort of situations: Fixing rotating axles Allow for sliding axels Break out of a planar 2D structure into 3D, great for strengthening and protuding. Do you have a favourite LEGO Technic piece?

I am taking an inventor class for college and we had to pick an item that has at least 10 pieces. I chose a Lego mini-figure plus some accessories for it. The only problem is I do not have the exact measurements of the figures. I tried to dimension them myself but some are nearly impossible to get. Does anyone know any site that lists all the dimensions and pieces of a Lego mini-figure?

Hello! I was bored of my Steam games this evening, and I decided to install LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy on my PC. I wasn't expecting it to work, as many games had already failed me. Nonetheless, it ran. I run a 4K monitor with an R9 390, 16 gigs of DDR3, and an i5-4690K. I can play GTA V on decent settings and get a consistent 60 FPS. This game, however, does not like being maxed out. It ran very poorly, basically unplayably, and it's not fun at all. I don't understand what the problem is, but my prominent guess has been that it only lets my iGPU render the game because perhaps it doesn't recognise my 390. I don't know what could be done about this, nor if this is the problem, but I am not happy with this. I'm also wondering why GTA V is so much slower these days. No matter the resolution or settings, I get a lot of frame drops and weird frame timings. I haven't had these problems with any other games, and my PC seems just fine. I just don't see why it's lagging when it's not being fully utilised. I know my storage isn't full, and I'm concerned it might be something to do with my Games HDD. It's not brand new, but it's a perfectly fine drive, as far as I know. Is 5400RPM enough? This became a whole slue of questions, and if you need more info, I'll provide it when I can.

Hello everyone! Recently in the "Show off your latest purchase"-Thread there was a lot of Lego stuff so i figured why not make a dedicated Lego thread? There's one for Cars, Anime, different countries etc. and now this Lego thread is also here to stay! So now i welcome everyone to show off your old Lego, your newly aquired sets, self build things and even accessories like stands or shelves. i'll begin with my latest set, which is a Star Wars Snowspeeder. I've filmed through the entire build process (which was roughly 4 hours) and i wanna do a time laps of it. Keep an eye out for that @Quibiss @DildorTheDecent @8uhbbhu8 @Pascal... @Xiauj @Nup

Was looking around to see if anyone had created a Lego Jeep from Jurassic Park, and while I found about 2 or 3 designs online, none of them looked appealing imo So, I found a program called BrickLink Studio 2.0 and made my first ever MOC LEGO set! Check it out and leave some criticism since I've never really done this before. I'm considering making a MOC of the Ford Explorer from the original JP Film as well as the RV/Trailer from The Lost World of people think this looks good (I happen to think it does) I’m working on making the instructions in case anyone wants to be able to build it.

Hello, For the past few months I've been developing Majora's Mask - The Legend of Zelda for LEGO Ideas. If that project gets allowed to be a real set I can make extended and extensive research into a new piece of technology which allows ITX PC's to be even smaller, have no moving parts and coil whining at all, while being passively cooled with 0 dB, and no realistic compromises on parts & power consumption. Only if you actually want to support this, here is a link (pun intended) to the LEGO Ideas page: https://ideas.lego.com/content/project/link/43de2865-1a38-487c-91c0-dbefc33e1b40 I have contacted multiple news outlets myself already, but up until this point no one has answered. If anyone knows a news outlet or someone that might want to write about a domino-project like this, please let me know so I can contact them. Keep in mind that I'm not specifically asking you to write an article, just if you happen to know someone who might. Thanks in advance! Quick example specs with what I mean by no compromises: 5950X, 256GB RAM, RTX 3090 or possibly new Titan or Quadro variant. @LogicalDrm Yes I know it's quite ironic about their no advertising rule. Thank you very much for taking the time writing what needed to be changed. Kind regards, Chef

I want to make a lego keyboard like the one that JK Brickworks made. Here’s the link to the video he shows it in What’s the cheapest keyboard with Cherry MX Brown or blue switches, I don’t care about the actual build quality of the keyboard case or keycaps because I’m go Ng to replace hem, like in the video.

I'm wondering if anyone has done : 1) a lego case (size atx/matx) 2)measured the heat (I don't think this will be much of a problem as the motherboard won't be indirect contact with the bricks and with good airflow it can easily withstand 50-70c if I use the transparent bricks but just to be sure) 3) what kind of problems did they encounter? Also if Linus will ever showcase such a thing in the YouTube channel .---.(make a lego case).

Hi! It's my first time posting something on the forum, so probably this won't be seen by many users. I have the original disk of LEGO Rock Raiders and LEGO Stunt Rally, and I want to play those games on my new PC. So I try to install it (like a normal disc game). The installation proccess of both games goes smoothly, no problems arrise and everything seems normal. However, when you try to play the game (either of them, the same problem happens with both games) the game seems to start, but it just gets stuck and comes back to the launcher. I do not have very extensive knowledge about computers, so I haven't tried more advanced options. I can provide extra information (screenshot and more) as long as you help. Thank you very much for your help!
